I've got loads of them from where I used to work, buses and trucks use them all over in various sizes and combinations,I also got the brass type with olives.

Amazon is a good place to get them - I just put them in that box to keep them handy! www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=push+fit+connectors&crid=JH6YRUXZAZTX&sprefix=push+fit++connectors%2Caps%2C153&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_1_19

As I said on a previous reply: On my 130 I ran all breathers from 6mm into a 10mm single pipe using tees, and stuffed it up the snorkel - not one leak in 8 years

My back axle one doesn't get anywhere near the engine bay, it goes along the A frame and terminates around the cross member in front of the fuel tank. Anyhoo, nice easy fix and yes, could do with some of those pipe fittings. I'll be checking mine!

I think it is only military ones that run up to the engine bay

Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Good job and info as always. More sherry now. 🍷

Ask me how dangerous a blocked breather pipe can be - 96 D1 transfer box breather came off the firewall and fell down onto the exhaust manifold and melted shut - pressure built up and blew all the gear oil out of the box onto the chassis - this happened on a cross country trip - needless to say it wasn't long until the transfer case self-destructed

Such a simple thing can cause an awful lot of damage!

Recently did all 4 of my D1 - they need to be open to breath! Problem is the timing-belt housing when you have an A/C since the breathing pipe is through the blanking plate on none A/C engines! Need to drill a hole in the cover😱
@BritannicaRestorations
@BritannicaRestorations 11 месяцев назад
But there is a wading bung in the bottom of the cover - that is where it breathes from
@BittnerBuddenbrock
@BittnerBuddenbrock 11 месяцев назад
@@BritannicaRestorations there are actually two wading plugs, neither can be left in situ permanently - just for crossing water, then they need to come out again.
@BritannicaRestorations
@BritannicaRestorations 11 месяцев назад
Yes - they should never be fitted permanently = it is the breather for the timing case - so no need for a breather in the pump cover
