Hey I have a general question! I have a certain amount of acres put into the CRP program from 2014. What’s the best way to repurpose into a cornfield again once spring rolls around?
Guys here will seed corn into broadcast fertilizer on sod when it is raining...spray a couple of days later. As the corn is coming up the grass turns brown. Easy to disc in fall as long as you keep up with spraying during the summer. If you have access to manure...even better.
In Canada if you fill to the roof in fall, and the corn is put in at ten degrees above freezing...in February if you take it out, the corn can freeze to the roof at minus 20 and take your roof down as you take out from the bottom. So you want to fill it up...but not right to the top.
