Wow! I would have never thought of using a heat gun with pencil to help blend it. I know it works for crayons, but I don't didn't know it would work with colored pencils. Thanks for the tutorial!

If you would have read a bit more, you'd have realized that this is only a very small excerpt of a video where she helps you step by step both with the materials she uses and the finished landscape. Look for it on North Light like I did. Mrs. Kristy Kutch wrote a FANTASTIC book called The New Colored Pencil Creative Luminous Works with Innovative Materials and Techniques. It came out in 2014 and is still ahead of it's time in technique and surfaces/grounds to be tried with each colored pencil medium. In it you will find probably more ideas, more techniques, more paper types than you've every heard of before, along with details and facts about ALL the major brands of colored pencils, water-soluble (watercolor) pencils, and wax pastel artist crayons than you'll be able to even think about trying in a life time. Lisa Lachri makes fine videos, but this woman truly has more technique and experience than anyone I've come across in the colored pencil field. So, think before you speak! Because you really look like a fool, when you talk about things you have no clue about. I highly recommend Kristy Kutch's book to ALL those that really want to learn. Thank you Kristy for sharing this technique! Love your work, and your pace so that everyone can follow along and create their very own.

Wow, I didn't know there were pencils that melted with water! I don't paint, I'm new to coloring and sketching, but I loved how you did that sky with a hairdryer. I will have to try that with my pencils. Thank you for sharing this tip. 🌻🌻

Well the heat thing is not nessersay for the ones that cant get to use one or dont have one u can easyly rubb it with a tissue only be carful of paper rips

along with colored pencil techniques also provide types of paper to be used for colored pencil, water color pencil etc.

Are you using Wallis Sand Paper? If so, why? Can't a nice cold press 140 lb. Rag watercolor paper give enough tooth without resorting to SAND PAPER?

Sorry, but I don't care for this. Why do people always teach about colored pencil by resorting to other media -- watercolor or acids or various brushing techniques, hair dryers, etc., as if the pencils just aren't good enough. If so, why use pencils in the first place? Why not just do water colors? I happen to like the look and control and precision of the pencil and believe that with a little effort (and the right pencils) you can achieve great results without having to resort to other media as a crutch.
