REX Accuseasons has been out for a good while now and I use it on all my flights in MSFS 2020. Coming soon however, is REX Accuseasons Advanced Edition which won't just alter the vegitation in MSFS to deplict the changing seasons, but it also changed the whole landscape making things look far more realistic for the time of year. In this video, we take a look at all the new features and show off how well the simulator will look with this new addon installed.

It looks promising. I do hope early fall will be really gradual because they often put in completely brown trees in September. Summer doesn't just stop at the end of August. It usually takes two months before you really start seeing brown trees.

Being a current user of accuseasons this looks really nice. One reason I was considering 2024 was because I thought seasons would be a great addition, along with better terrain they are discussing. But this might be a way to keep 2020 a bit longer, Id love to see a strictly comparison video of different areas before and after as I'm sure many will be posted soon.

Another thing I might add is google map replacement was really great in allowing changes to terrain color, contrast and brightness, until it completely broke my simulator. Google map replacement is a very risky add on as it edits a few things many people would not know how to fix, and some have reported like myself they actually had to reinstall windows and start over because they got in too deep. 😢😢😢

I wonder if it changes the scenery and vegetation in third party airports... or are you going to see a big green splodge from afar in winter as your on finals for the likes of Macco EGCC, or Inibuilds EGLL (just as examples). Also, lets the boys and girls at Accuseasons know.... its... Colorado Aspen.. not Apsen ;) But otherwise, it looks amazing.

First thank you for the niche made video and comparison, we'll done! If you may have time, it would be nice to see a video from you with the accuseason together with rex weather force vs the default of msfs.

I've been thinking about getting this product to extend the life of my MSFS 2020. However one thing concerns me - all REX products include "Set UAC (User Account Control) to “never notify”." in their instructions. This is a Windows safety feature that stops software running without the permission of the user which is of course , what naughty software tries to do. What is your opinion on this?

Sounds very interesting. But just to understand: are the Bing satellite textures replaced by the Accu-Seasons textures? Then it would be as inaccurate as deactivating the Bing textures in Flight Simulator.

It cannot possibly be using new ground textures, that's a huge amount of data to replace and MS would be doing that if any such data existed. It must be putting coloured filters over Bings textures.

@@cbcdesign001 I hope that the satellite images will continue to be used and not the standard textures of the Flight Simulator (which you also have when you play the simulator offline). With the offline data you can certainly depict the most beautiful seasons, but it would be far from the reality that the satellite images provide.

I can't get this working. Community- folder is located right on settings, but this is doing nothing on sim. Tried everything, but scenery stays same all the time.

Literally can’t get this to work. If I just do it manually and click, “apply” in the settings, nothing shows up in my community folder and the sim doesn’t change but when I click automatic, it shows up in my community folder and works but immediately crashes when I load in.

Are these awful bright brown tree stems and branches of the winter trees which can be seen even from higher altitudes finally gone? This was a reason, why I stopped using the default edition of Accuseasons after a few weeks. The vast majority of tree stems is dark grey or even black during winter with a few exceptions (birches, eucalypt etc...)

Thanks for the interesting review. Question; Enhancements, could you explain if they are a one off add on to MSFS or would you have to add them prior to a flight in the area in question?

The way they chose to handle automation is... odd. There's a lot of other ways they could have addressed updates. I guess just better to manually upload your week before the start of your msfs session.

Indeed. Using a scheduled task means we have the computer on at a specific time WHILE THE SIM IS NOT RUNNING. It would be much better if it was possible to start the texture update as part of launching MSFS. One way to achieve this would be to launch the texture updater and have it automatically close when finished, and then start MSFS. Additionally a check could be built-in to make sure it updates only once per day/week. Even a simple startup parameter which tells the software to close when updates are finished would help. Then we can automate things ourselves using scripts etc.

I don't think you understand how the platform functions and what is odd for simmers actually makes sense for developers. There are always a reason for the madness. This platform is much more locked down that previous sims. Hopefully this will change as MSFS evolves

Good mod but it remains quite incompatible because of bing map and its irregular colors, in fact on the colometry of a tile is too green on Bing, accuseason will not capture the colors and will not apply its filters on the trees and the terrain so you have tiles of different colors, this affects everyone unfortunately, hopefully a fix? but I doubt it since the problem comes from bing

I think that's a hard question to answer since we don't know how Season are going to be in MS2024 just yet. You'll probably get a good answer by the end of the year/sometime next year

Hello friend fro mFrance ; i have an issue with accuseason advanced one, i'm on automation preset and if you see your video at 6:17 it show you "download file completed!" and you can click on "OK"; in my side it said the same but i can't click on "OK", the button is not available; do you know how to fix that friend ? Do i need to reinstall REX accuseason ? can you help me ?

Choosing the correct "Seasonal Terrain Coloring", doesn't it should be automatic as well? (along with the vegetaion updates...) We already have too many Apps and buttons to open/switch just to make a single flight............ REX TEAM: Please consider that! ;-) Thanks for the video!

I don't believe for a moment that REX took the most difficult approach to frustrate the community. The platform based on WASM is not like XPLANE and P3D. It is much more closed for devs and the way they chose to do things is probably the best way. This dev has done something no other dev has done.

I've got both Bijan and REX Accuseason. I haven't tried the new Accuseason Advanced, but IMO I think Bijan's Four Seasons has better Autumn and Spring trees, but much less subtle seasonal changes. Bijan also implemented texture changes like what Accuseason Advanced is adding, but they weren't perfect and often led to little "loading squares" that loaded the terrain in chunks, which was more distracting than anything. I don't believe Bijan updates his product any more, which is unfortunate. If you want great looking Autumn and Spring trees and don't care about updates, grab Bijan's Four Seasons. If you want more frequent updates and support, with better Winter trees and potentially better terrain masking, I think REX Accuseason is more for you.

@@NoticalMylesis essentially correct. I too preferred Bijan vs the earlier REX irritation but it is at this point essentially abandonware, although the trees still work well with basically no FPS hit.

giving it a new name screws us over - those that bought the original. It should have been an updatge. I'm hesitant. I'm also waiting for 2024 FS to see if something like this is built in. If nothing else - we original rex accuseason buyers should get a substantial discount on this updated version. = (
