Working mans restorations I wouldn’t be worried about gas mileage in something that gets driven 1000 miles a year either. Also the 454 is half the story, this thing alone is a lot heavier than a blazer and once it’s towing another big truck he’ll be lucky to get half of what you’re getting. I’d agree it’s fine for local shit though, he’s just making it sound like it’s going to replace the 450 which doesn’t make any sense really.
That thing is pretty sweet, you could just get rid of all the other trucks. This truck is an all in one kind of truck. I agree with keeping the 454. Had to edit for that blue, its looks really really good on a square body. This truck and the Bruce is all you need, all purpose on road and all purpose offroad.

I grew up with these, hated them. I skipped from 1979, all the way to 1996.. and now that is old too.Glad you got some big rails there. I'd like to see what they did for space between cab and bed.. the strengthening. I have never trusted the rails in these.

Love my 454. Have 99' 2500 suburban just put dual thrush 25" glasspacks on it. Such a low tone. I get 9mpg before exhaust hoping for 1 or 2 more. Smog pump coming off next.

Make room in the dash for a large screen radio. Get a back up camera that mounts low in the back that projects onto your radio. That with some new mirrors should do you good.
The bed does not move. Same as pulling a trailer with a car on it. My boss use too buy these every time he could find one we must have restored 5 of them
Hmmm. Can you un-lift the f450, get stock wheels/tires back on, unwrap, restore paint, and have a nice truck to use? See how high you can get the odo. I think everyone would wanna watch that.
Note to anyone watching who likes to do burnouts. A one wheel burnout puts a serious strain on your spider gears and will fail if you keep doing it. Put a limited slip or a locker in there before you bind up your spyder gears explode your carrier.
Steve you should wrap it and fix the fuel cell get some nice wheels and the mirrors get some 2014 sliverado tow mirrors get blacked lights all around with leds and get a newer truck interior
I’d go with the black and orange theme of the F450. It’s your signature and I think it’d look good. I’m still looking for a ramp truck for my endeavors!!!

Do a wrap with the American flag.... or have the front of the truck blue with white stars and the bed white and red strips and the top of the bed Crome or black..
Too bad you're not closer to Idaho, I've got a much nicer cab and aluminum diamond plate running boards for that ramp truck. Don't let anyone talk you out of that 454, you'll regret it. Nice purchase man, keep up the great videos
the reason why the head unit drains the battery is because it's probably configured to run constantly. Now,if you can find the Red Wire from the starter(The thingy where the key goes,dunno how it's called in English) ,that means that when you flip the key to 2nd position,the head unit will turn on. If not,then there's possibly some dude who will correct me on this,as I haven't worked on car electronics in well over 10 years
