Query - why isn’t the grain matched on the wall paper panels? I’ve seen this on some Homeworthy videos lately - is it a new thing in design? Maybe that’s part of why it needs to be redone in this space?

There's no way to match grain in grass cloth wallpaper. The paper is usually natural tones, which makes the joint less prominent, but here it has been dyed dark blue.

Beautiful home Paula💙 5 months sounds pretty fast for remodeling in NYC with all the crazy logistics to deal with. Ralph Lauren Paint has a great paint technique for paint that looks like grass paper. I painted this in my home & love it still. It's best to have 2 people doing this paint technique together. One to roll on the paint on the wall and the other to use the special brush to make the "grass" lines on the wet paint. I added a additive to the paint (cant remember the name but, bought it with the RL paint) to slow the drying time so, it's easier to use the special brush without having to rush the line process before it drys to fast. Love this new renovation projects. The large tall closet doors & all the base board molding is beautiful. Really adds that "wow" factor & classiness to the apartment. 💙 Have a great weekend Paula. take care
