I saw something about this on the wiki that brings up a great point: They’re on a space station so most of the environments are enclosed, without suppressors on the pistols the guards would be deafened any time they shot their weapons.... which they need both for defending against the volunteers (potentially dangerous prisoners) and the typhon which had already broken containment before the events of Prey.

But also in the lore, the Talos 1 space station had a typhon outbreak before, and they use desperate prisoners as test subjects and need to be prepared for a revolt.

@@ZonsoAvalune I mean, they are justified in being angry. This game was a spiritual successor to Systemshock and shouldn't have been tied to the Prey IP. Especially since the original Prey had some great concepts that could've been made even better in a sequel. And that the original idea for Prey 2 was apparently pretty good.
