@@DajackBeingReal that immovable object is 150 pounds skinny a$$ B. which predator can snap in half with his pinky finger yet she is giving him a run for is his life.
Just finished the movie, and I have to say, this is my favorite one by far, phenomenal work. After it was done, I thought how amazing it would be to see Predators in different settings throughout history with predators fighting skilled warriors. Medieval, Roman, Samurai, etc. Would be such a boost to the franchise to keep it in the format of Prey in different eras/locations with said warriors. 👌
I'm pretty sure that was one of the original direction's Fox was going to take the film franchise in, if P2 had been a hit. That would be a rad Hulu series.
This is easily one of the best Predator films hands down. Healthy amount of action and suspense and the cinematography is amazing. Hopefully if a sequel does happen we can see it in theaters and not on a streaming service. This would’ve been great in theaters and waiting a year for the disc release is ridiculous!
@spartacus2650 predator 2 was good for expanding the lore with new concepts, but this was like a live action dark horse comic in a good way. Both are great but I personally love this one more just for the burnt glades scene alone lol
Showing Predators hunting in different historical eras is a cool concept. You can build a huge franchise with this concept. Hopefully this will be a good Predator movie.
I really like everything about this movie. The CGI, the acting, the flow of the story and the wonderful scenes. I guess the only reason why people criticize this movie is because they all look past those points and think about what's realistic or not. Movies are of different genres and if you come here looking for something realistic and rational like "predators dominating/killing a woman" then you aren't thinking straight at all. Movies are supposed to keep you entertained or whatnot, it isn't all about what's real is perfect/beautiful. Give this movie a chance and you'll see so many lessons. What a beauty!
She takes 2 full force strikes to the head form a razor sharp metal shield from a 7 foot predator and she just shakes it off. This movie is utter crap. Not to mention the million other illogical things in this stupid feminist pushing narrative of a movie.
A strong female lead can be done right, I mean alot of action movies from the 90s/2000s had female leads and they were great. Underworld/Resident Evil/Kill Bill just to name a few.
This movie was SO GOOD. The photography, landscapes, cinematography... was all so beautiful and poignant... the backstory of the young indigenous girl vs the French trappers could be a film by itself... but then it becomes a freakin' Predator movie!!! This is Hollywood genius at its best.
More sequels like this, please. Just Predators throughout history vs the warriors of different cultures. Solid, simple characters with no convoluted story. Just great action and unique kills.
This trailer makes us represent of how Predator gets to be sneaky and silent like in the first film. Also the Predator clicking is satisfying throughout the trailer!
@@kennethsatria6607 With how Native American culture brings a lot of attention to spirits, I imagine that is one hundred percent intentional. I expect a portion of this movie is going to be them figuring out that this isn't the spirits, but something else. I'm very excited.
I was bored and out of things to watch so I went in with low expectations. Wow! What a pleasant surprise. I thought the idea of bows and arrows against a Predator was ludicrous but it was smartly written. The bear vs. Predator fight was sick. I love the beauty of the Native American culture and their respect for nature/combat. It’s the heart of the movie. Amber Midthunder is AMAZING as Naru. Trust me, I never thought she could pull it off watching the trailers because I had a tough time accepting how it could be plausible, but they more than pulled it off. She is fantastic, and if you think this is gonna be woke and decided to pass, you’re missing the best Predator since the original. Naru is to Prey, as Ripley is to Aliens, in my humble opinion. Both fantastic female leads!
You writing your review like you did already sets it up woke garbage. What a joke.. even a wounded predator would have 0 trouble besting a 15 yr old in hand to hand combat. Hollywood pushing it's usual garbage. This girl couldn't even beat an average coyote in hand to hand combat
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 You are of course entitled to your opinion but as someone who has seen this movie I can assure you it is not "woke" in the slightest.
@@itsallbs8 Yo and let's not forget the movie 110% will end with her taking over as the new chief and then the brave indigenous assholes will team up with the newly woke predator to fight your evil conquerors... Whatever, next...
You’re joking, right? It looks like the trailer showed the entire film. The beginning, middle & end. By just this trailer I can infer the entire movie.
Underated predator movie. The design of more 'ancient' predator is what gets me, not too over powered but not too lacking. It Hits the spot. Since the predators are known to adapt, and hunt, the characters in the movie themselves show how they can adapt and hunt too. Such a beautiful representation of human born to be hunters vs. alien hunters. And... Does anyone notice the end of the movie where.. *spoiler alert* The end, it shows the drawing animation of an oncoming spaceship? I hope there's a sequel to this.
On IMDB, it's the 2nd highest-rated in the franchise next to the original, so it's not really underrated. It also just got 6 Emmy nominations, so a sequel is hopefully assured now!
@shubhdghyhb I think it means one of two things. 1. The Predators came and killed the tribe and took the gun. 2. The Predators rewarded her with something but took the gun from her (Danny Glover character in Predator 2 receives that gun). I don't think it's 1 since they like to hunt and that's not hunting and based off of Predator 2 we know they reward the ones who manages to slay a Predator. That's just my theory. Im sure they'll make a sequel or a new Predator with a different story, hopefully they bring back the director and his team. 0:02
What about the part where Furnace flies in and is about to cook Amitav then Fleetway Super Sonic flies in and bashes Furnace, then says to Amitav "LET'S SEE HOW FAST YOU CAN REALLY GO!" Then makes her weapon disappear, leading to a chase scene between the two.
For anyone wondering; Director and Native talents says that they filmed an alternate version in Comanche Language (where the actors spoke Comanche instead) or English. So you can choose to watch it in its original language. I surely will be watching it with Comanche and subtitles! :)
That's what I'm saying! If your gonna make a film with indigenous characters and back story, should they be speaking the original language of the land?
This is a great movie. New setting. Likeable characters. A proper story to tell. Vicious predator. Great fighting scenes. Amazing soundtrack. Very well shot movie, some very beautiful scenes. Also personally i loved the comanche lore in it and that it was put against a Predator. I would happily watch another one with Samurais vs Predators, altough it would be very similar but who cares, i cant help but dream about a movie like that in the veins of the Last Samurai focused around honor and redemption.
I didn't know anything about this movie, I only saw this trailer as an ad. I decided not to skip cuz it looked interesting. But when the bear suddenly died and got dragged away, I knew something was up. Then it got LIFTED up in the air and I heard the FREAKING PREDATOR CLICKS and my jaw was on the floor. Did NOT see that coming.
it clicked for me when the chick had the 3 beams on her head ts was got me hyped the bear is what made me stay I thought it was gonna be a random movie id never watch
Agreed. This 90 lb wahmen is supposed to beat a Predator?!? Laughable is an understatement! Like just about everything featuring a "strong empowered independent women" fighting against the patriarchy, it will be a preachy POS lacking substance or story. HARD PASS. Enjoy losing money ya morons!
Gracias por esta película. Desde mi punto de vista recuperaron la esencia de la película original de 1987. Y por supuesto mi agradecimiento a Sarah Schachner por esa belleza de música❤❤❤❤
I really hope there will be more scenes with predator vision. I feel like every predator movie showes it less and less and it really defines the greatness of predator and builds unusual atmosphere
Nah. It was used as a neat visual gimmick in the original but honestly kind of defeats the purpose of not knowing what the Predator is. Fine without it, honestly.
Absolutely right mate, to see the world through its eyes builds suspense, and a threatening atmosphere. They should also upgrade the look too, of predator vision, would be brilliant.
Nice movie but few points that don't add up.. 1. Predator got lazer target but it shoots arrows.. like seriously 2. They got shield that cuts rock but rock don't cut that slowly it rather breaks or cracks.. a scene where shield try to cut girl throat. 3. Predator got invisible suits but not able to identify and distinguish colours.
FunFact: the world record bench press was 770 pounds and a full grown grizzly bear weighs somewhere from 700 to 1,700 pounds, meaning that the Feral predator broke the world record bench press without even trying.
If it happened in the past, wouldn't that imply that there were no world records to be broken, therefore the feral Predator set a record long before records could be held.
It's a small sample size but between his feature debut in 10 Cloverfield Lane and the work he's done on The Boys and Black Mirror, I have reason to put at least a little faith in Dan Trachtenberg's ability to produce something interesting. I also absolutely love that there will be a dub in Comanche. Looking forward to this, but wish it had a theater release behind it.
Check out Dan’s review of the earlier Predators and how he saw the franchise way back when. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-k2cg13gmBFo.html (review starts at 10:21)
As long as there is a Blu Ray coming, with even a possible Director Cut, and definitely both language versions... im so ready for this. Love it when she screams at the Predator in anger.
Yeah unfortunately since the last few predator movies were so weak 20th century didn’t wanna risk sending it to box office. I have hope for this one though
The Boys is mostly just political commentary. And this is not like pitting the Camanche against Predator, because the Comanche didn't have pretty girls as their best warriors or hunters. This is just pitting Predator against Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
"because you all think I cant " ... gets constantly saved by everyone else :P literally every time she was in danger someone appeared and either helped or died giving her time to escape
After a long time finally got to watch it. Man I wish it’d had a theatrical released. It’s the only predator film that captures the concept. Great film
Yeah even the side characters who are there for just a scene or two felt like real people with real internal lives. Combination of good acting, writing, and directing.
@@deltaboy2011 Their gear is ancient. More advanced predators will challenge themselves by using mostly melee weapons unless the enemy has alot of ranged firepower.
It's a interesting concept. I would love to see a Predator movie featuring the Wild West theme, or even a WW1 or WW2 theme. Imagine how many possibilities we hould have following this aproach.
This looks so badass! Honestly, I want this to succeed so we can get other movies set in the past as well. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the Predator movies that art set in modern times (mainly 1, 2, and Predators) but having set in the past is such a fresh and new direction for the series. Can you imagine it set in Feudal Japan or Viking Age, Ancient Greece, or hell a pirate film?
Pretty sure the comics did a lot of that kinda thing. I remember there being a comic that is set in Africa where a tribesman has to go up against the predator after it kills his whole village. I don't remember them using any dialog bubbles so all of the story telling was in the artwork. That would be a cool movie.
I loved this movie so much. Afterwards had a bit of an unclear view and skepticism about the girls battles against the Predator but after rewatching it and the wounds Predator had already suffered it becomes a truly seamless flick, rare for this genre.
"Because you all think that I can't" LMFAO, HUGE difference between hunting and literally having to fight for survival against a creature capable of running through several heavily armed Marines all by itself.
PREDATOR ,I BENCH PRESS A 800 POUND BEAR ,BUT IM 120 POUNDS COMANCHE ,THE SIZE OF A SMALL CHILS AND IM KILLING THIS BEAST CALLED PREDATOR 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤮🤮🤮🤣🤣🤣🤣
The invisibility part running through the grass was pretty sweet! That totally triggered my childhood memory of seeing the raptors running through the tall grass scene in Lost World!!!
Exactly. MOST movies today are just rips off of other films...lol I didn't think that was cool at all. All the 'directors' just pulling a tarantino and ripping off other films smh... that's not movie making, that's just copying.
not really the OG plan was to surprise drop the movie. there was going to be little to no marketing, excluding the predator and focusing on the tribe. but the movie got leaked a bunch of places so they gave a official announcement. my guess it being streaming only has something to do with the og plans. if it didn't get leaked the movie would've just popped up. i feel streaming would be the safer route for something with that idea.
Congrats to all involved - a classic! side note: DIsney, I hope you're reading this... cause THIS is how you make a Great movie with a female lead and ZERO activism
Would be cool to see an elite samurai warrior, a huge viking berserker(played by Haffthor Bjornson or someone like him), an elite spartan warrior or an elite spec ops Rambo like dude go up against a Predator.
You need the first Predator movie for a lot to make sense, obviously. But I must say that this is the best Predator movie of them all. Yes, even better than the first one.
This movie was freaking awesome. The Feral Predator Yautja was the best one to enter screen, absolutely terrifying, unimaginatively brutal. That is the perfect representation of what Pretadors do.
Hope they keep the scene where the predator takes off his mask, looks directly at the camera, winks, and says "ITS PREDATING TIME!", and then predates all over the baddies.
@@notrichrd4412 They should build it up, like the predator has killed all the natives, all the red coats and is about to kill george washington and then it says "its predatin time" THEN we hear a voice say "no...." Pan up to Morbius "Its morbin time" A confrontation that epic has to be done right.
Looks like a very interesting concept! I'm personally a huge fan of placing Predator in different historical contexts. Let's hope they've done a good job!
Yeah, the college aged cute little girls being the best of the Comanche is a real "interesting" concept. I can just see the other Predator laughing at the skinny weak looking trophy.
Not the real concept. Nothing about the has anything even close to what the Comanche were like. Especially they didn't have any matriarchy. Like at all. This is just a completely made up time, and a completely made up group of people that have nothing to do with anything that happened on Earth. I think its pretty disrespectful to even use the Comanche name.
@@Faker.account I watched it, and thats what I saw. You really think its realistic Comanche tribe would have their best hunter and tracker be that skinny little girl, who has no years of experience? That is the definition of historically inaccurate. Now if you want to watch a silly movie where nothing is accurate, its even inaccurate for a Hollywood version, then fine. But dont go comparing this film to historical anything. Its entire point is tat this one extra smart girl is right, and all of the men are wrong...although she cant actually outsmart a bear. This is NOT like a film putting the Predator in an interesting historical setting.
I think it do be cool if the Predator wins or even a draw happens. And the other Predador be like "oh boy, this people on earth go some shits, hu? Lets go back there"
You know what would make this movie even more awesome, if the characters didn't speak English and spoke their native language, they did that in Apocalypto and that worked. Food for thought.
I would watch it, but aren't studios always saying that "Americans can't do subtitles"? Not sure if that's (still?) true, but I doubt big studios would take that risk for a film that's not considered as "award worthy".
@@Dp_is_Op yeah, it would have added more to the experience. I don't think the natives started speaking until a certain ship arrived from England and they were not the first people to come to the land.
I was thinking the same thing. Subtitles, or just a more accurately depicted version of the dialect, would have really increased the believability and (potentially) even the tension of the film.
Low and behold, it’s already 1 year old!!! Director Dan Trachtenberg delivers all the essential elements fans know and love from classic lines to the familiar weapons the Predator specializes in not to mention new ones that add to the appeal No shortage of gore and violence, lots of moments of suspense, fun action, and the villainous alien this time proves a worthy challenge given this is a point in history where humanity is still somewhat savage in nature Plus they have yet to understand advanced weaponry in the eyes of a traditional hunter This movie is beautifully filmed, too taking advantage of the American landscape Lots of parallels to David & Goliath here plus it has the advantage of being very native-American based Amber Midthunder makes for a very proactive warrior fighting for her people not just to prove her worth as a capable hunter, you’ll be rooting for her the whole way Really good character building particularly in the silent moments I’m happy we get to see this intergalactic hunter more as opposed to the original film yet its easy to understand why that worked The climax is really exciting with the heroine and the antagonist using all their tactics seeing who the real prey will be Trachtenberg thankfully reinvigorates the franchise giving the fans what they want but also adding new layers to chew on I’m so freaking glad this new approach worked where others have failed
The last few installments lacked the very foundation of what made a predator movie stand out amongst a sea of scifi films: fear of the unknown. We didn't know what it was, where it hailed from, it's motives. That ambiguousness lended a sense of horror and mystery about the character. Plus, the predator's relentless pursuit of hunting down beings with never stopping. This movie is gonna be great. I have full faith in Dan
That's a very good take. The best predator movies to me were Predator and Predators. In both Predator 2 and The Predator, the government knew about the aliens and played a major role in the story. The best movies have been the ones where they mostly don't know what they're up against. So this could be really good.
This is fantastic. Its how the predator series should be treated. Different locations doesn't mean be in the same time period. I may get a subscription just for this.
HEY... hello anyone there 20th Century Studios? Bad enough "PREY" didn't get a theatrical release but almost 12 months later, it's still not released on Blu-ray or DVD? Meanwhile, 'Top Gun: Maverick' and 'Bullet Train' are both streaming and BOTH are available on Blu-ray and DVD... you need to get your act together!!!!
I feel like this would make for a good idea, take indigenous people from various points in history who hunt to live and put in the Predator that basically hunts for sport/honor.
Listen man I don't care what anyone says this looks sick! Tying it all back to Predator 2 with the fact that these Predators have been around for so long and hunting people for hundreds of years. Just wish it was in theaters though...😅
My personal Top 2 Films of this year are (1. Top Gun: Maverick (2. Prey. It deserved to be in the Theaters, and if it had a future theatrical re-release you can take my money. Badass film.
This was a cool movie. It was cool to see a Predator in a prehistoric kind of way and what their weapons and skills were like before they adapted, evolved, and made more advance weapons. The skull like helmet and seeker arrows were cool, but I could see why the Predators switched to plasma guns after the Indian girl out smarted the hunter.
In Predator 1, Dutch retreated to his helicopter in exhaustion, bruised up and beaten, traumatized by the Predator encounter that slaughtered all his comrades. In Prey 2022, Naru returned to her tribe, proud and happy for achieving what a man couldn't, that is killing the Predator. The constant need for the glorification of a woman succeeding in a man's role is unreal. The little girl at the end looking up to her in full admiration, encourages that girls should aspire to become hunters, warriors, not a cook, to prove your worth being just as good as a man, if not better. Wahmen are the bestest! Anyone praising this movie as the BESTEST Predator movie speaks a loud volume on a new low the easy-to-impress general audience's standards for movies have plummeted in this Woke cinematic era.
Amazing production...the actors, the scenery, the score, the cgis, the plot were top notch. Now we are looking forward for a predator in ancient Rome against Maximus
The Predator flipping and catching the tomahawk was quite awesome. No denying that. Hopefully the Predator itself looks good. But I'm not holding my breath.
He looked DOPE AF BRO & he was a STRAIGHT UP SAVAGE💯This movie surprised the F out of me! I thought it was going to be more of the same BS & it wasn’t...DEFINITELY WORTH WATCHING!
I like the design they went with, you can still tell it's of the predator species, but from a different region of their world, far more arid and dry given the look, but also young like it was still trying to prove its self, this wasn't a veteran predator this was an unblooded hunter still trying to prove itself.
All the movies have been superb so far, so I'm always UP for The Predator. And because of the writer/writers, I'm excited about the story line and the captivating plot. How wonderful... Keep it coming people.
This looks absolutely Amazing! Hit every note a predator movie should have, suspense, mystery and a badass predator design. Looking forward to this. Edit: just saw it it was every bit as good as I thought it would be, it’s an awesome movie definitely check it out!
@@Piss_Missile why not?? A good story is a good story no matter the setting or how the lead character looks, and this one seems to be good one. I personally like this setting, I’d watch it day one even if it wasn’t a predator movie.
