There are videos called MBC Online that I think are better. The MBC also made a series called Escales something nabout Mauritian people, places of interest and villages which were realy good but I think they no longer show it on RU-vid
The literal translation of goyave de Chine in English is guava from China. The yellow ones are bigger and sweeter than the red ones that are rather sour. Anyone can pick them up at arm's length at Plaine Champagne. My friend worked as market inspector for the Vacoas Municipality in the early 70's and then left his job to go to France. On weekends I used to go to the movies at the Metro Cinema not far from the market. There's another Cinema further down the road called "Savoy" and I think it's still operational. We had a Jamalac tree in our front yard at Vacoas. We also had a Coronsol tree in the back yard, they grew very big and very sweet.

Thank you for your videos. Your videos are amazing, we love them. Me and my family sit down and watch them in the evenings. We've even told our Mauritian relatives in the UK and France to watch your videos. Keep up the good work. Brilliant!

How was the custard apple with the ants taste 😄. The Lime is on steroids. I was a bit paranoid before eating Guyave de Chine, I always split it and look inside for any wiggly worm. Guyave de Chine are prone to fruit flies that lay their eggs that hatch into larvae in the fruit.
I think you maybe referring to goyave de France instead of goyave de Chine. This is not as soft as the former and if the skin looks smooth and shiny, you can trust that the fruit hasn't been invaded by flies. The small seeds inside are very hard and I usually crush them with my teeth to prevent constipation. You can of course spit out the seeds and just eat the flesh with the skin.
