In 1993, I moved to Hawai'i because of my job in the Medical Field ( a job opportunity) for the Queen's Medical Center. Hawai'i was never my dream to live in but I always felt that I would be in a place that would be warm like the country in South America where was taken out by my parents because of security reasons as they migrated to the Long Island NY. With family in Florida and California my dad, picked ONE of the coldest place in the USA....New York State. I HATE the Cold and I HATE SNOW!!!!!! This RU-vid story is very touching but encouraging that yes....we will miss where we were born which is the comfort zone but we can survive outside of the comfort zone and continue being who we are, eat what we love, be proud of our culture, our language etc. This story is proof of that. And we can always revisit and maybe even move back one day to that place where we were born. For me, I love Hawai'i and this is home and I am grateful everyday to have been guided here, to these beautiful islands known as Hawai'i. I miss Long Island where I grew up and South America where I was born but, I visit both. So again, much aloha & blessing to this family and to all those future Hawai'i Ohana that may have to leave this amazing place called Hawai'i but remember, no matter where you go, you will always carry with you, the Spirit of Aloha & the Soul of Hawai'i :) Always! My own thoughts about the 9 island. We have only 8 Islands aside those thats connected to us in the archipelagos chain. But no be nuha, e Kalamai vegas is not our 9 island, i call it another city of refuge, to keep our Kanaka Mauoli from staying back on our Hawai'i Nei. Just my own thoughts. Watching Hawaii become a cesspool of crime ,drugs, effects of gambling game rooms causes to neighborhoods. It should not be legal to go in a grocery store and the next day that same item has increased by almost one dollar. That's not shipping costs because it's the exact item from the day before . Rental homes jumping in prices ,everyday seems a new politician or state worker is charged with crimes. How about the land that homeless are destroying with their trash and human waste.? And now our local thugs be it gangs , drug dealers , gambling places have graduated to gun violence. People are leaving with broken hearts . Vote people into office and they do as they please not what the people want, that new pay raise shows how much they care for themselves and not the people who elected them . Personally it's corrupt to vote your own pay increase as local families that voted them into office struggle to feed their children. Of course the state fundraising through property taxes will continue to increase they need pay raises . God Bless Hawaii before it's totally destroyed. Total respect for the 3 that refused the pay raise . Beware you're swimming with sharks 🦈.

"PRICED OUT OF PARADISE" these words resignate so truly, amongst our people of Hawai'i nei, and our Kanaka Mauoli. To make Room for the State of Hawai'i, governor, Lt governor, the Mayor and city council members, all of these guys selling our Aina to foreigner's, of different countries and the 1% from the mainland. There needs to be a huge change in ALL of those places and being Audited from an outside entity not from inside. Everyone of them has a hand in that pot. They know who they are.
