I love to walk through antique malls and see things mom had in the kitchen and decor items that were in our home as a child.

I once bought a rare Yugioh card for $10. I had it appraised and guess what? It's worth $18, maybe $20 on a good day. Needless to say I was quite shocked

Histories only furniture expert. If Arthur didn't know then you were imagining it, lying or trying to scam him. You did not fuck about with Arthur and the antiques world know he is the only irreplaceable antique that has ever been produced. RIP Arthur Negus

I would sell as I believe experiences are much more valuable than something to look at. I would holiday and enjoy retirement :)

You could only sell it to someone who valued it highly... so don't knock people who value things more than experiences.

I would sell...what happens if there is a fire? at least the money is in the bank

CandyCandy nice antiques can and should be insured. Many times their value increases faster than traditional savings. Just a thought on why people keep the items instead of selling.

Great, money sitting in a bank, rather than artworks being enjoyed.

To be taken seriously as a professional, a young man couldn't look like a schoolboy or a student, so he had to "dress up" like his elders.
