Well done Patrick on the wheels and levers, Well done Matthew on the camera, most of all well done the engineers at Mirrlees Bikerton & Day, Stockport in 1924
@@HistoryNeedsYou I have a beautiful brass 7" Injection Pressure gauge, 2000 lbs per 0", with no. 204861 Mirrlees Bickerton & Day Ltd. Stockport England. Does anyone know what Engine/System this may have belonged to? It's one of the few "barn treasures" i've saved from my last farm employment, and as the daughter of, from a family of mechanical engineers, it's particularly beautiful to me. That said, whilst housebound, unable to travel (would loved to have seen the display a comment referred to), it would be lovely to have more details about this gorgeous piece of history. I look forward to anyone being able to share, as online info is limited and I've not found an similar piece anywhere after days/hours searching. thank you for this amazing video, nostalgia runs deep for our amazing, once the epitome of manufacturing worldwide, so sadly lost now. Warm regards to all, R Elizabeth aka ladybudd
A beautiful machine. Barring it over by hand must be quite a workout! It would be nice to have more commentary on the engine. Type? 4 or 2-stroke? Displacement? bore? stroke? What are the red handles on top of the cylinders at 1:55 ? (decompression levers, perhaps?) I like how the engine drivers in the old photographs all have shirts and ties on. Today's engineers wouldn't put that much effort into looking good for work.
