“I would never give up my sword for a ring” “For the right man you would” “The right man wouldn’t ask me to” Am I the only one that loves when Liz says that? Lol. Holy crap! 6.2K likes? Wow. I feel honored for some reason. Lmao. Thanks guys! Hope everyone is well and safe! 😊❤️
A gentleman of good breeding would never introduce himself to a lady. Instead, he would find a mutual acquaintance and get that person to introduce him to the lady.
What were you expecting from a youth with a bad habit of sneaking into the enemy's home for a ball or climbing walls into their garden in the middle of the night to stalk their 14 year old daughter?!
Yes, I think zombies are not the most terrible part of this movie after all. I find the dresses beautiful, although those undergarments do not belong to that exact era.
Internet Junky it could have been worse like Lincoln the Vampire hunter This albeit is crappy compared to the original is a good way to introduce people to the book and pbs shows
Mr. Darcy: Says a whole speech about how gorgeous and bewitching Elizabeth is when she fights, basically saying he’s in love with her all of a sudden Mr. Bingley: *DUDE CHILL OUT!!*
xD it's actually a direct quote from the original Pride and Prejudice book...except that Darcy says it when he's defending Lizzy's unusual appearance after a long walk (Mr Bingley's sisters attack Lizzy's flushed/wild appearance and Darcy defends it)
in this version Lizzy is a warrior, she isn't held back by the constraint of actual Victorian English manners. She's used to letting her emotions out, and not be called addled for it. She is a great Lizzy in my eyes. And elevates the character. Cause in any Jane Austen remake movie, Lizzy is always the cool girl, matching the tone of whatever time she's in. Like in the series lost in Austen, Lizzy was a nanny and microbiotic.
Then you should have seen her in Romeo and Juliet at your local theater :)) She was soooo great as Juliet! But maybe you didn't have a possibility to have at least one screening :))
And the gloves. they wear white gloves when zombie slaying and no blood on them in sight. Why have them wearing while if it isn't meant to show off blood stains?
@@GabrielNicho when they were slaying the zombies u can see a bit of blood coming out so even if its a bit the lower part of the gloves which is the hand should've blood on it.. 😊
The effects in this movie or sorely lacking. It says 14A but I've seen RU-vid videos with better effects. No blood splatters anywhere on them and the ones you see when they slash are obviously added in editing and it's sad how fake it looks. Even when one of the zombies was stabbed I noticed the spear or whatever it was clearly being stabbed beside the zombies head and not actually on it. Makes it very unconvincing.
What I found most jarring and unacceptable about this movie was the way they transformed Elizabeth in this scene. Something that every other version of pride and prejudice has in common is that Liz has backbone. When Darcy insults her it pisses her off a little, but she chooses to use it to make an illustration of Darcy's arrogance. She DOES NOT become mortified and dramatically rush from the room on the verge of tears because some random guy whose kind of jerk disses her looks to his friend. Adding Zombies to P and P is fine. Making Lizzy a cry baby is not. Also Darcy is a gentlemen, and not a completely robotic human being. Darcy upon realizing he'd been overheard and that he'd hurt a lady's sensibilities would have have the sense of propriety to apologize. He wouldn't have gone #sorrynotsorry. The fight was impressive however.
actually if you read the book Pride and Prejudice and Zombies she does the same thing vut only because she wants to kill him for that comment, and can't in front of all those people. It went against her warrior pride to let him simply get away with it.
I think this is one of those things that definitely didn't translate onto the screen. We as moviegoers are limited to what we see, and we didn't see any of what went on in her head. They should have rewritten it or had the actress act in a way that gives this reason why she rushed from the room, but they didn't.
I don't approve much of the use of dark colored satin for Elizabeth's wardrobe. I know they want to highlight her as the main character but satin at that era was expensive clothing.
His raspy voice is actually due to the fact that he was a chain smoker at one point in his life. I was just upset about all the mean comments towards Sam.
If you like Darcy and Elizabeth you should watch some other much better adaptations of them. This version is slightly entertaining as a parody but as a serious take on Jane Austen's iconic characters, I wouldn't say so. Once it moves away from Jane Austen's text and becomes a full-fledged zombie action it quickly loses any appeal and just drags on till the end.
I didn't see this movie on cinema -- I didn't even know it came out in the movies! I'm so glad it's on streaming and DVD now, and I must have seen it a dozen times and still enjoy it tremendously! I love Sam Riley's Darcy and Lily James' Lizzy.
I'm about to watch the 10-minute film right now while eating a bowl of Mexican seafood soup. I have heard about this movie before but never really seen it. But based on the comments, it sounds amazing, awesome, and hilarious.
I know! I can't choose who I like him (Sam) better as. And he's in love with Cinderella and Romeo is his best friend. One of the reasons I watched this was because I knew just about everyone in this movie. 😁
I'm so upset that this works, like I've always been a hater on PPZ but now I've watched it and it works like what the heck?? This is genius. I have to go get the book now
Watched this movie too many times to count and I still love that epic fight scene, I think it really fits Elizabeth's character! Badass Bennet Sisters For Life! "Laugh as much as you choose but you shall not laugh me out of my opinion..."
Lol you know this is f**** cute cause both Lily James and Douglas Booth did play in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet (and yeah they played Juliet and Romeo :) ). It's just that Douglas was performing in a movie version and Lily still plays her part of Juliet at Garrick theatre in London :)))
2022 and PPZ is still shining and kicking … ! I absolutely love this movie. Only good things and compliments about this alternative version of Jane Austen’s book. Underrated ? Yeah because of people ignorance I think. But time has the final word !! Nowadays PPZ is that kind of movie we all want to watch again and again. Hats off to handsome Sam Riley who played the role of the arrogant but brave F. Darcy so brilliantly ! 👏👏👏
Pride and prejudice is my second favorite movie (titanic being #1) ... and i LOVE SCARY MOVIES horror films are the only movies i feel worthy enough to pay to see in theaters ...and this !!!!! omg ALL MY FAVORITES COMBINED! GENIUS!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I have to be honest. I never intended to see this movie because it never interested me, but as soon as I saw a few short clips, this one specifically, I was like, "Okay, let's give it a go." And I loved it. And I actually cried at the end because I thought Darcy died. But then they got married with the best proposal ever since Will proposed to Elizabeth in POTC. In short, the action and kick-butt women and handsome men satisfied my love of period films. 😁
