Awesome! I wanted that truck until now. You saved me a ton of money! I'll stick to my 8th to 10th scale ELECTRIC trucks thank you! It is a cool truck...
This truck with stock engine is better then any RC car or truck out there.....it’s a monster truck.....not made to go 100mph...thing weighs 80 pounds and all custom made!!!! Worth the money!!!!’
Well since it is a new release, no one really knows yet, but as we continue to use the truck we will be sure to bring forward any new information on this topic!
So would you recommend me or anyone buying one? I’m in the uk and was thinking just get one for a laugh. But was a little disappointed it broke that easy and I’m not local for parts. What you think DD?
It was just the body mounts, , not easily though, he had been bashing it all day long before I got there, , it's the truck of a life time ! Definitely, I have one also
@@shaunstumbo3698 I also have a savage and I love it, but what people don't understand is that the tire of the primal monster truck is the size of my Savage! It's Huge
Sounds like you need to tune the high speed jet a bit. Did you mess with the exhaust or the air filter? It is definitely not running right! It is probably making about half the power it should be.
@@FoundryRC lol!! That was a close one! In all seriousness I'm glad the Mrs. still has her legs in tact!! 👌👍👍. Might have to get one of these to "not" run mine over!! Haha jk!!
i think with a good tune these things will have a fairly decent braaap all the videos ive seen are boggy break ins this one was more impressive every ones been commenting that they are slow but you gotta remember they are damn near 100 pounds impressive machines
Fully agreed. Ive raced quarter scale nascars for years, and all these videos, all these dudes are just getting their trucks, and theyre still super rich. I dont know what these come with, but a walbro two needle would make amazing results, likewise a bigger throated carb probably. And these come with two sets of gears i believe. I still want one lol mine would rip lol
@@dondagy9109 very true, still breaking in. It comes with a single needle carb, but I think they are being replaced with a 2 needle, it comes with 3 sets of gears, which equates to 5 different ratios
I think the front and rear shockers look tiny compare with the size of truck must have twin shocker system for this kind of rough bashing and if they put two speed instead of one
It’s a cool truck but too big for my taste, I’ll stick with 1/5ft, 1/8th of 1/10th scale rc. I noticed a issue why my rev cut off Peoria once. I thought it was to lean at first but would stall out in rich setting too, I readjusted my throttle brake throw on the servo and I didn’t stall any more. Maybe try that if it still stalls. Another fellow who has that primal truck had same issues until he adjusted the servo throw
From what I've seen that Raminator truck isn't all that impressive to me. The size is awesome, but all the videos I've seen, its incredibly slow, and its always dieing. The performance just isn't there to justify the $2800 price tag. and theres no aftermarket parts for it. Its like the Dragon Hammer, a flash in the pan that wont last long.
@@ddteamrc6461 but will the raminators diffs and driveshafts hold up to it, and you would need taller gearing to get some speed out of it. As far as I know, there isn't any aftermarket parts for it. I was thinking of getting one because it looks so big and bad, but $2800 for what seems to be a turd, I cant bring myself to do it. By time you drop a $1600 rcmax 46cc in it, you got $5000 tied up in it, Would it really be worth it?
Start by turning high speed screw on carb in a quarter turn at a time, untill it sounds to be running smooth at full throttle...the stock engine is way under powered on those. But should be able to get it to run right..
they are really nice trucks ! they still have a few bugs in them thou, but monster ant suppose to be fast 45 mph if it goes that fast is great for me ... this thing should Super omega king clod buster lol
Seems like you were having some of the same issues as I'm having with mine. Primal said there is a sweet spot where is doesn't conk out on the low end, which I have yet to find. They did say they will be selling some modified carbs with low end adjustment. Also if the engine is dying when you hit the brakes it's because of the kill switch and you need to lower the brakes EPA to about 87%-90% which means your probably going to have to adjust the brakes again. Also it doesn't look like you adjusted the shocks from the factory. I have mine about 7 turns out from the top and it seems to give it better handling and jumping.
Lol @ people who hate it because it isn't an x-maxx. Different species altogether. Real monster trucks are usually pretty slow too except for when they do speed runs with different gearing. Saying that, it does seem a little slow in the first half and then suddenly picks up, did someone tune it?
Agreed. Scale its faster than a real Monster truck should be. It comes with three sets of gears, which equates to 5 different ratios, Gary is running 50/50 in the video, there are 2 more ratios for going fast, thing is nobody seems to realize that everyone is still breaking in they're engines lol The one in Primals video is plenty fast, and I think that engine is pretty inexpensive.
@@ddteamrc6461 Yeah people have only had their hands on them a week or so and it's not the kind of truck you're just going to thrash out of the box and not worry about messing the ending up. I'm betting it looks more impressive in the flesh too. Hard to appreciate it's size and presence in videos.
One last comet rear steer makes these things to do deep best all-wheel-drive donuts you have ever seen or four-wheel drive whatever you want to call it same diff on rc
At the moment all of us who have it, just got it since it was just released, everyone is still breaking in they're engine, so it's way too rich with fuel = no power. They also make an upgraded engine for the truck
Why the heck is that truck pull so hard to the right. Did something let lose and your not saying anything. I see u cut the video slot. What's your honest opinion about this beast let me know please thanks. Awesome video
I am shooting video of my buddies truck, I also have one. So this is the first time he ran the truck, one screw loosened up, but we didn't see that until we finished bashing it. But it doesn't have anything to do with the video editing, thank you for watching!
So the LOSI MTXL was supposed to be a 5th scale Monster truck, so which one do you think is actually scale, Primal did not have to worry much with their dragster as they were making one no one else had. Gotta love it.
From what I'm told the Primal monster truck is actually 1/5 scale and the losi MTXL is pretty much a version of a mutated dbxl. I have both, it's a dbxl.
@@ddteamrc6461 I have the DBXL and was not interested in the MTXL one not that interested in Monster Truck's and two the DBXL was very disapointed with the DBXL performance construction and handling, it took a lot more upgrades to make it a good buggy, I have the 5ive-T and hoped it would be more like that, I went on to get the FID Dragon Hammer and Kraken VEKTA-5 and KV5TT these are far supierior to the DBXL. I also have the TRAXXAS UDR and 30 degree's North Sper Desert Truck I prefer truck's I must admit and electric is clean fun and not so heavy to lug around not sure I could cope with an 80 pound truck loading it in my daily and would not be able to take any other with me.
@@Nickwillfixit I absolutely agree with everything you said, I had to invest at least 1300 back into the dbxl just to get it to function properly, , huge regrets, losi has Really changed over the years, , ,
@@ddteamrc6461 I thought about getting the latest 2;0 5ive-T but when I look at how much I invested in my one I had one of the first in the UK and I can honestly say that it only has six stock parts left on it, and although LOSI has addressed a few of the problem's not all of them I will pass as I addressed all the problem's inherant in it. I did not buy the LOSI SRR as the 30 degree's North Super Desert Truck is far better I sort of want the Super Rock Rey but waiting to see what 30 degree's North and Traxxas bring out on their 1/6th and 1/7th platform's would'nt mind a Super Stadium Truck or an Ultra 4 or Rock Bouncer time will tell but they all end up needing to have upgrades to address their fault's and yes I do realise if they addressed them all we could notafford them lol, only LOSI with the neweat incarnation made a good effort on addressing the major problems.
the raminator prove to me that you don't need speed to have a ton of fun this trucks more capable than any of my other RC cars and this is a hobby other RC cars or just toys you get into raminator it's an actual hobby
It's Definitely way cool, , I think people just don't get how Big it really is, , when they're saying that there 1/8 savage is faster than it and can whoop it, lol it is on a completely different level ,
Thats what I was wondering myself, I thought he Gary wasn't going to beat on the truck? And when he told me that he was taking it to L.I. BASH ! I was like what? ? It's going to get destroyed! Nothing and I mean nothing survives L.I. Bash!
Wowwww I hope that wasn't your MT..and filming too watch..Looks suited for Single humps..i hope the MT gets back on track soon. Still an Eye Catcher. Looks like the Shocks and Chassis Bracket's collapse. But Great Footage..in Fine Tuning it while they had it..
Trust me you're not going to break anyting hitting that jump full throttlewhat you do need to keep an eye on are all the little screws and nuts and bolts they will back off and come loose because it vibrates a lot I used a little bit of red thread locker on mine and haven't had the problem since
I wish I had a RU-vid channel because I have my raminator completely decked out with rear steer that I borrowed from another raminator that got completely totaled out by my buddy because he's an idiot and I hooked up the servo and the front steering on to the rear and it works awesome I also change the gear in a bit so it goes about 5 mi an hour or so faster than stock and this is with the regular stock parts I didn't order anything else to get that
How much does this truck cost I am very curious I have Gas RC boats now It is time to get a gas truck I have Nightrobe trucks now it's time for a gas truck Why not have the biggest and the baddest the one please come and back and let me know how much this trucks goes for thank you very much for this video
Mark Atkins thats not always true. Number 1 they are all the same from factory for the most part. Suspension adjustments, engine. Things need to be tightened and maybe loosened after a bunch of first runs to weed out the things that came. Plus this thing is huge vs something smaller and more nimble!! It’s 80lbs man lol! You Can’t say inexperience just by watching a 5 minute video haha
As you pointed out how expensive it is I'm not going to drive my car if it's not driving right and I think it should be making a jump not all crooked and trying to hit somebody but whatever man
I've seen this video on two channels, I refrained from making any judgements, but I have to agree the driver seems either to be intentionally careless with an 80 lb, 3,000 buck truck, or just not up to the skill level it demands yet. I understand they are designed for jumping and hard use, but at least check your equipment often and your setups before going crazy in a place where people can get in the way. We experienced the same thing in giant scale aircraft when we were flying 40 and 50% scale. enthusiasts often sprung for 8 grand or more on a plane then proceeded to risk themselves and others with there inability to control it. A lot more potential for danger with planes going faster (80-100mph), being larger (50 plus lbs.), and flying in 3 dimensions, but now it seems land based R/C is about to move into similar territory. I see nothing cool about the way he handled the truck. Putting higher gearing and a larger engine in it is a recipe for disaster in the hands of some folks. All you need is 3000 bucks to join and run it at the parking lot, or in the street. I just want to add so it's clear, in R/C flying as many know. The AMA governs flight rules and safety, and requires insurance to fly big scale stuff (and all sizes minus toy grade). Yes there are backyard guys who don't go by the rules, but at least there is a majority exercising discipline, and especially with larger stuff.
Thank you for the great reply, , agree these just aren't toy's any more! These things can easily break lims and possibly ribs, they have to be operated responsibly
I know it's still being tuned and broken in but still, sounds off. I mean, not a 2 stroke expert but idk. Something doesn't seem right. Like a clogged jet, sticky choke, bad sparkplug or something with the oil mix. I only have dirtbike experience so it doesn't apply to RCs much but idk. Just puttin it out there. Ye ol internet expert
@@ddteamrc6461 yah when I switched to synthetic I had to run much higher ratios. I went from 25:1 to closer to 50:1 and the 250 trail guys were running close to 100:1 on that synthetic 2 stroke mix. It's some good stuff, but when I had it mixed 25:1 it would foul spark plugs and smoke like crazy. Smelt good tho
I wish you luck but you come off as a newbie amateur and there a lot and I mean a lot of RC channels that have millions of subscribers for hundreds of thousands that have great content everyday so you're going to have to do a lot in work hard to make your channel grow but I wish you all the success
Looks like a passing fad. Motor sounds terrible. Just like the real world. Guys buy these over sized rigs to make up for their lack of manhood in their pants. I'm far from poor, I know st wouldn't drop 3k on something that offers such poor performance.
that thing is so underpowered it's like watching a monster truck with a go-kart motor it's painful to even watch if I were to pay money for that thing I take it right back It's upsetting that they would take such a badass truck and put such a piece of shit motor in it take that thing apart and put a 5 horsepower Briggs & Stratton motor in it and then it'll be cool
this was a good idea but everything about this truck is just screwed up the suspension I don't know what they had in mind there it's top-heavy doesn't handle good and apparently they don't have the gearing set up right just too darn slow my t Max are my HP I Savage would make this thing look just sick which it is if it's over $400 it's way overpriced it could be a lot of fun if you're just out there goofing off but for serious off-roading or short track racing it doesn't do it for me
True the truck is not for everyone as it weighs 80 lb and is almost the size of a small quad though that does appeal to crowds though as far as being top-heavy I can tell you that is definitely not, the majority of the weight is in the bottom and axles tires exedra and the gearing there are six different gear ratios you can choose from and switch out Gary had the original 50/50 gear ratio and is still just breaking the truck in
I think that's the point of this truck, it's a monster type truck, that ways about 80 or so pounds, not a speed machine and defiantly not a ###### t maxx or savage, I'm not backing this truck up but it's pretty cool for the rc world, not sure if it's worth 3000 but the build quality looks pretty stellar, not knocking the savage it's a great truck still to this day!
They have three different sets of gears , which equates to 5 different ratios you can run, that ratio is middle of the line. Also he was just breaking in the motor so it was running very rich but they do have an aftermarket engine for it which has a lot more power
I think it's fine for 80lbs.. Much faster would do serious damage to whatever you hit.. It just needs more torque. That is what a MT suppose to be. They aren't supposeto set speed records
@@karlw2090 I agree with everything you're saying honestly I don't understand what people expect if you want fast do a Nitro buggy or 8th scale Electric, I mean why does everything have to do a hundred miles per hour? The truck is what it is
Yup, it's a big heavy beast, almost full replica of a monster truck and people are still complaining. I'm definitely getting one! I'd like to add the rear rear steering later.
