January 18, 2019. Primavera Latin Jazz Band live at the historic Cadillac Hotel in San Francisco. Personnel: Lena Johnson/piano, Dave Casini/vibes, Jeff McNish/guitar, David Pinto/bass, Bob Blankenship/drums and percussion. Concerts at the Cadillac is a free monthly series of high-quality concerts in the lobby of the Cadillac Hotel in the heart of San Francisco's Tenderloin district (since 2007). They are dedicated to the power of great music to uplift and inspire. www.cadillachotel.org

The cat with the hybrid percussion kit is amazing! Keeping the 2/3 - 3/2 timing on the block and bass drum below, using his left hand for the congas, and the right hand for the bell, 3 cymbals, and timbal...... wow! A great example of 4-way independence.

Este grupo es genial.Tengo muchos años oyendo buen jazz y nunca,NUNCA REPITO,había escuchado una interpretación tan bella y melodiosa como la de una pieza de mis favoritas: I remember April,interpretada con maestría y genialidad por todos los integrantes de este gran grupo en el bello San Francisco, el que nunca olvidaré.

Increíble como la virtuosidad instrumental de estos respetados y veteranos músicos, no solo se mantiene activa aportando acordes de lujo en el latin jazz suave y melódico. Son un hermoso ejemplo de que la música no tiene edad, felicitaciones !

So clean & solid the way they played those "classic tunes"! I have to give credit also to the person who recorded this cause he/she must've used a really good microphone cause all the instruments sounded very clear & no one drowning anyone out. The bass sounded tight, sharp & clear & have to give special credit to the person playing percussion cause playing the clave with your foot & at the same time congas & timbales is not an easy task! Bravo, these guys did great!!!

I've noticed that most live recordings with poor sound is because it is not coming from a console, where everything is mixed. Basically when any individual uses any recording devices like personal cameras, cell phones; each has its integrated microphone, which doesn't provide a good sound. In this case, it is obvious the recorded sound was processed through a Mixer console.

The song is "Morning" by the late great composer musician- Clare Fischer- who I had the honor of meeting seeing his live performance of "Morning" in the late 1970s"

Again.Watching this agroupation .It is a pleasure to hear that kind of repertory very varied and special .All latin sound and American clasics like morning.Many congratulatiins to all these spectacular musicians.Thank you so much for sharing this music.I play latin guitar and bass and I am enjoying remembering this style of music that I played with my quartet Harlem band that I have in Medellin Colombia in 2000.God Bless you guys.
