Something for the weekend? Ethan Leo once again works his magic fingers on the PRIME 4 showcasing the full creative power of PRIME 4 and Engine OS! Find out more: www.denondj.com/prime-4-prime...
@@KING-cz3fq Of course. About 10 days just to think what to do ( ideas don't always come in a day) and about 3 days to do some tests and finally shooting the video..
Watched this so many times now. 3 Times today alone, and still blown away. Makes me realise how rubbish i am, and that i still have a very long way to go indeed.
Thanks Paul, I appreciate it. If you work hard you get everything you want, anyway if you need some explanation about this routine i would be happy to help you. You can PM me on Facebook or Instagram. :-)
I thought that i have a natural way to Djing it kinda just happens if in the mood, but this was so technical - i'm in a technical job and i can't work out how you worked this out. Maybe mucking around, has to be some natural feeling to it. How did you even get to those last 50 seconds dude? That was not natural but it felt like it was - yet it you must have worked towards it? Would you do a video to show how you got from nothing to that last 50 seconds - as i've watched it 5 times and you practiced hard. Practice is both hard and easy - do it again and again - but you somehow made that machine work and i think a Denon Engineer would look at that a go man i never realized that was possible. Your hands moved , and that slow down was probably the best way to drop in ANY tune. Show us xx hehe
I have seen this video so many times, I'm going back to it every few months cuz this is unreal. If i had any idols and saw you Ethan, I would immediately discard my admirations towards them and start saying that Ethan Leo is my inspiration.
This is very technical set. I just started learning on prime 4 yesterday and wanted to see someone use different techniques and this is the best thing I could stumble upon. I need to use hot cues more. It’s easy to start on prime 4 but it’s gonna take me years to get anywhere with this
Excellent inspiring mix Ethan ! i keep watching this over and over ! love the keyshift into the filter sweep, just awesome! seriously cant wait to get my paws on my prime 4... :)

Hey :) thanks for your informative video . Ne completely different question I have and would be very happy if you could help me there: would you recommend 2 x JBL Partybox 1000 in combination with Prime 4 or SC6000 as a PA system? because they are easier to transport thought me get them to me but unfortunately do not know me technically with it . Would be happy about a short feedback. Kind regards
I like that this is not off the cuff...so many DJs don't take the time to orchestrate a well-prepared set. Moreover, the video really showed the diversity of this great machine! I love my Prime4!!!
If you only need mixing track so pick the Prime 4 cause it's can use standalone 4 decks. If you are more performance so take the XZ. The jogwheels and the mixer is better
@@ducminhnguyen4860 thanks man.. Yeah probably going to go with xz. I do perform and also want to give dj lessons as well. Eventually want to get a turntable and a RANE 12 inch controller platter too or sampler or snyth or midi for live stuff.
Ethan, this video is epic. I just bought the Prime 4 and have watched this video repeatedly... slowed down too. LOL The only thing that's missing for me is access to the actual track(s) you used for the mix. Could you share the exact name of the track and where to buy it so I can practice step-by-step? I've learned a lot of techniques this way, and the start experimenting with my own stuff. Thanks either way man!
I've been thinking about getting back into DJing and I have been doing a bit of research on what equipment to buy 🤔 first off, this dudes skills are amazing and second... I think I will buy this controller 😍
Really enjoyed this, especially the finger drummed Ozzy riffs.... Really torn about ditching the Laptop and Serato.... all the Prime stuff looks so great, but I also love my MC7000 and have been on Serato for a long time. In the next generation of your Prime software/hardware ecosystem, please try to include a sample player... I really love the sampler section in Serato and am not sure I could make do with hotcues and creating sample tracks, but I AM toying with that concept... doimg this wpuld likely mean Prime4 instead of Prime2, or maybe wanting a 3rd deck if I went with the X1850/SC6000 setup... Thanks for the innovative stuff the last few years! Keep it up...
Nice mixing. I like what you did..I have a quick question for all who have the Prime 4...Did you have issues with lagging on the pitch fader? Meaning when you try to use it, the console is lagging to do the change in the pitch/or shows the changes accordingly on the screen?
@@hectorheckler6327 Cheers, I heard from one of the admins on the forum that it's like a special function of the pitch faders, "slow/mixing"? I don't remember what he called the function but is that real? How does it worj
@@Bogdyindahous I'm still learning how to use the prime 4, but what I think you're talking about is the "default speed range" settings which you can adjust to limit your beatmatching range of your library to 4% or within 10bpms. Or you can increase the range up to 50% allowing you to beatmatch songs at extreme tempo differences very accurately, however weird it may sound. I have mine set at 20%, although, I rarely beatmatch songs that have more than 7-10bpm differences.
Insane job dude! I'm just discovering the Denon Prime 4 and I'm gonna have to cancel my order of the RX3 to get one - kind of insane that a stand in one controller this good exists and everyone doesn't use it!
Thoroughly enjoyed this. The time and dedication it took to create this. Perfectly executed. I may have to give Engine a try. Those waveforms are super smooth compared to Serato💯 well done!
Ethan Leo I really want to don’t need the 4 ch’s but the Prime 2 has me interested I just don’t know if I can invest in Denon and be restricted to Engine software when it’s still early stage. As always with new gear there’s bugs. I just really love the stability of Serato although their GUI could use a lot of work.
@@DjTecniq of course but Engine Prime is not a performance software. It's only a software to manage and analyzing your music. So it's a lil bit unfair to compare both software ☺️
Nice big touch screen... I wuld like to see in future that you can make your own XY Touch effects if you combine any of 2 effects... pls pls and sorry for english :)
The only thing I don’t like about my prime 4 is the noise effect. The pioneer one is awesome. Going to he left it goes down as in a continued pattern and to right it goes higher. In the prime 4 it cuts
PLEASE Denon, follow the example of the Prime 4 / VDJ and *add Serato DJ Pro support for the Prime 2* as well! Then you would have the true 2-channel BEAST 😎 on the market, thanks to great flexibility, and more Pioneer SR/SX/RX users like me could switch. Weddings DJs can use their Serato with Laptop, and change to Standalone for smaller or club gigs, where the 7" screen is sufficient. The Prime 4 is great, yes, but bulky and not everyone needs all channels. Thank you!
