If they had replaced the icon requirement for an 87-rated squad, I would have considered it. But approx. 1 mill for an untradeable which you can buy on the market for 600-700k, why the fuck would you do it?

Last year EA made a clear distinction between low grade icons and high grade icons based on if/how many icons were required in the SBC. These 5 would clearly have been in the 0 icon bucket last year. Requiring an icon ruined this SBC. I’m also worried many people will do this not realizing the pick is between a predetermined set of 5 vs having a chance at R9, Pele, etc. Last year I did an affordable Rui costa SBC that didn’t require an icon and he carried me through the first half of FIFA. Sad they screwed this up. Would help if EA dropped a baby icon SBC like last year.

The SBC Costs 750k at this time on PS4 and the most expensive icon across the 5 icons achieved in the SBC is 730k in Hierro

Surely to keep prices down, they cud just say instead of an icon requirement, sub in a coin value so those who hav an icon can use it or can just straight up pay 200k or so, cud also be used for other requirements to stop the current scenarios with extinct 87 players

The entire point of doing these Untradeable Icon SBCs is that you get them for a considerably cheaper price than what they would cost if you were to buy them off the market. Fair enough, EA can't dictate the price of the cheapest Icons, but they should've known that icons were going to jump in price. For some of the Icons, it actually costs MORE to do the SBC to get an untradeable card than it is to buy the tradeable version off the market. This is ridiculous. Not to mention these are some of the low to mid-tier icons too

Why are people complaining about the SBC being a waste of money? You don't have to complete the SBC. Not everyone puts money into the game and I for one am glad that it's so expensive. I don't want to be playing a game where everyone has a prime icon knocking about, this early into the game. The game is too competitive as it is imo, I definitely miss the days of playing for fun!

Nep you always refer to futbin but if you go on the squads on futbin you’ll see that extinct players and just some over players come up as 0 coins that’s why it’s nearly always wrong

I really like the new format with player picks. Last year certain clubs/nations/leagues all had prices skyrocket when certain icons came out. The new format of doing the same set of SBCs for many different icons each month will stop that. What I don't like about this certain set is these 5 cards aren't worth submitting another icon. The price of the cheapest icon and these 5 primes isn't different enough to justify doing this SBC imo. Later on when some of the truly great icons are in the player pick sure but not now. if EA had just made some more high rated squads with IFs then this would have been a great success in my eyes.

People don't realize not every sbc caters to EVERYONE just like not every player that's released has to be an end game player. This is good either for someone who's got an icon they never use in their club and want a different one or for someone like nepenthez who's doing a first owner rtg

Not worth it at all. The lower end icons last year did not require an icon to complete them yet these 5 are all lower end and require one. They either needed to include a couple better icons in the pick or make it a random pick pack including all possible icons. As it stands, these icons are all cheaper to buy than the price of the sbc itself

Everyone trashing this SBC but forget that this year a lot of people have a shit ton of untreadables because of all the rewards we get weekly and for some this might be even be close to free plus the opportunity to make profit PLUSSS the opportunity to trade those cards you can't fit in some teams for an icon that fits in every team.The only downside of this SBC its being always the same icons because if they added ALL the icons this SBC would be insane.

Hey Nep Man I want to talk about ratings and price ranges. My problem is kind of with how some silver players can have higher price ranges than regular gold players. Why is it that a 74 rated silver can sell for like 30k and can be worth more than a gold player at like 500 coins? In theory, all gold cards should be more expensive than silvers and all silver players should be more expensive than bronze players. I can understand how some silvers prices may shoot up for SBCs but when a marquee matchup or a league SBC is released, the price ranges get changed and made more expensive. Also my problem is with player ratings. In theory, for the icon SBCs, the player's ratings having equal rating values ( 94=94, 91=91,90=90, etc). That would mean in future Icon SBCs ( In theory) that we could expect to get a 94 cruyff( as he is an equal rating to yashin), a prime Desailly ( 91, same as hierro) and a prime Ferdinand ( equal to overmars and okocha). But we all know that we will never get these players in an icon SBC because they are more desirable and too good. This is dumb because in theory equal rated players in the same positions should have the same level of value. What are high ratings ratings if players that are lower rated or the same or better? Apart from all that I love the vids, hope the family is going well and keep up the good content.

I am new to fifa19 ultimate team. I am suffering with amateur players and only have about 7kcoins. Any suggestions on how I can get more coins and then icons? Or at least some highly rated players.

Icon SBC aren't meant to be cheap as everyone would then have icons like the world cup mode, this icon sbc cost me roughly 550k as I had players in the club and made a lot of coins back from the packs.

It is a nice Idea but this 1/2MILION coins price for an 85 rated Icon and the fact that there are no promo packs to get high rated players it destroys it.That's repetaple for 30 days,when that hyped for this SBC stops and prices fall then is going to worth it.This is a really bad timing a few days after the POTM HAZARD SBC and the extintion of high rated players,EA shoudn't release this SBC.After a while I think it will worth it but now I don't think so

I used all my coins on the hazard potm and never got one walkout from any of the packs from that SBC opened a 7500 coin pack straight after and packed dybala. The hazard sbc was expensive but this one is off the scale waste of time and coins

for this SBC to be even worth doing the icon HAS to be tradeable because whatever EA are smoking recently the return on investment in SBC packs are just NOT paying off. opened 2 100k packs this week, 4 50k packs. around 2 mega packs. not a single abv 87. 2 fernindhos. Lol. fuck EA. was saving up pretty well maybe in 1 more week i could have gotten a decent icon. now the prices are fucked again. they are really good at this.

I thought it was for any prime icon, for example pele Ronaldo Roberts Carlos etc, thought I got screwed when the 5 icons popped up but turns out was my own fault..... cheers EA... on the plus side I took okocha and he’s actually a tank! Should have known EA would do a coin suck like this and try to make cheap icons disappear off the market. I started to doubt that prime icon sbcs would happen and so once I clipped 1mil coins I invested in the 90 rated George Best knowing he would be both usable and that I wouldn't lose coins on him if I decided to sell him on, however I'm now wishing I'd picked up 4 cheapo trash icons to flip once these trash sbcs drop. Anyone who thinks these sbcs are good value has a problem with basic maths. Don't get me started on elementary economics. Spending currency, on something you can't sell... I'd rather buy magic beans.

Overall not worth it for 90% of the player base, however, seems like a missed opportunity. Personally, if they would have made this SBC a little more attainable and offered the "baby" versions of some icons (85 rated) with the promise of future SBC's to use that version and upgrade it, that would have been a lot more fun. I like the universal chemistry of the icons but would much rather invest my coins in other players.

Another way EA pay wall getting these high rated players. No way a regular player who is not willing to pay can ever do this unless they play FIFA 24/7 every fucking day. Unbelievable. You have to give up an Icon plus other high rated players...? That's utter bullshit

IMO this is crap. :P As a PC player this is just to expensive. Cheapest icon alone is like 500k and each silvercard will be 10k cause they are not really packed on PC. Paid around 800k for pOtM Hazard. Not sinking millions on a meh icon i cant sell.

Hey Nep, what do you think about some gold cards becoming extinct, such as Iniesta etc? At the moment, it makes it really difficult for people to complete some sbcs. In my opinion, all regular gold cards should be purchasable in game from EA via a store or catalogue for their maximum price range limit (limit of 1 per day per card). This would not harm the transfer market and would mean standard players can never become extinct.

I think I'll wait and just buy the icon some time later when their price has started dropping.... don't have the required players to finish the SBC anyway. Its a different story if it gave me a 98~99 rated Ronaldo... or at least a 95+ rated icon / special cards

great idea from ea but terrible execution, you can get those icons that you get from the sbc for cheaper and tradeable it's not worth doing but great idea from ea next time it shouldn't require an icon

The hazard SBC costing 800k 3 weeks into fifa broke the market badly enough and now this waste of coins for terrible icons I can buy cheaper. No thanks. Bring on the scream market crash!!

I don't think the SBC would have been so bad if Hazard POTM wasn't out too cos when I was doing that SBC loads of players went and I was unable to buy them so I had to get Cavani ect. If icons was also still around 250k and the other SBCs wasn't over priced then it would be a good one.

No matter what ea do, people will make the SBC expensive, if it requires informs, they will rise, if it requires rating, they will rise. The only way I see is if EA can take out the 86 rated squad and icon requirement, I’m sure the users will bring the threshold up to a reasonable price and make it worth doing while keeping some of the expense with it.

The prices are skyhigh due to this, oterwise it would kinda be worth it. Good value in packs etc. Would be more worth if there would be a random icon, with a guarantee that one being at least 89+

You mentioned it was around 700k coins to do the SBC. With that price and the prices you mentioned for the Icons you’re overpaying for the icons. It would be the same price if not cheaper to get the icons themselves rather than doing the sbc. Not worth it all.

Why not release a guaranteed baby icon sbc first like last year which would cost around maybe 150-250k to do, then maybe people will consider this overpriced sbc 🤣

Can someone tell me why Neppo won't sell Milinkovic Savic? Is he special in some way? I haven't played Fifa 19 yet and Nepenthez always saves him when doing SBC's.

Also I promised myself after last year that I wouldn't dump 90% of my squad value into untradeable cards that ultimately limit my options 3 months later when they released WC mode and the market tanked and I had 3 tradeable players in my squad!

Do the individual gold team in the sbc for the 50k pack. It will cost you no more than 3 discard informs and 8 discard rare gold cards. Only thing that is worth it in the SBC..

Issue is 200k icons now 600k and not enough packs being opened for high rated players price to drop

What would you think of permanent sbcs where 3 cards give an upgrade? For example 3 83s for an 84, 3 84s for an 85 and so on how would that affect the market

EA had two choices with what they’ve given us, either leave it the same just get rid of the icon requirement, or keep the requirements the same, but make the icon rewards a fut champs style pack, where it offers 5 random prime icons you can choose between, rather than a given selection of average prime icons.

If it was an unlimited timed sbc I would be happy but 30 days is a joke, especially since the average player can't really get all of it within that given time unless you trade and make 50k per day
