I have never seen a player peaked so many times 2009-2012 : The goal machine 2015 : Greatest playmaker 2019 : arguably the most complete player we have ever seen. 2022 : The leader. He is so special, I don't think we will ever see a player who will be like him or close to him that he did throughout his career.

I agree with all of your points except the first one, you have to make a distinction and say 2010/2011 season was the highest peak I've ever seen of a footballer, Messi was maybe not as complete as in 2015 and 2019 but he was just UNSTOPPABLE in 2010/11, his dribbling and creating was on a whole different level, he maybe wasn't as complete but teams and especially defenses couldn't live with him. Never seen a player accelerate and be so agile. everything looked so natural as well. HIGHEST peak of a footballer ever.

Liverpool would've still thrashed them anyway but I get your point..come to think of it Barca wasted Messi's prime if he had a good team from 2017-2021 that would relieve him of his playmaking responsibilities so his work would be confined to the final third he would've won like two other champions league trophies. This video is less about how Leo carried Barcelona all through the season and other years in that period. And more about how the other 10 players always let him down. It is shameful and heartbreaking. Roma and Liverpool nights are emblematic of the fact that Messi was fighting it all truly by himself. And don’t even get me started on Jordi Alba crying in the dressing at Anfield at HT. This is the kind of fragile mentality Leo was surrounded with. Losing champions league clashes of vital significance from such commanding positions for two years in a row, especially when Leo gave his everything and was in the form of his life, took us (specifically me) into a state where you just have no explanations as to what happened. If it wasn't for the brilliant and aggressive teammates at Argentina who stood up for him in the following years, and saved us from the the worst depression of our life, his career would have gone under the radar. And I still believe if he had teammates that behaved like animals on the pitch, like the likes of DE Paul, EMI Martinez and Parades, at Barca in those crucial away champions league ties, we wouldn't even be having this conversation right now. His teammates let him down so much at Barca in the last 4/5 seasons.

This video just hit the heart... What they said about the other 10 players is very true, look at all the forward passes he made to put them in scoring positions, the wasted chances from Ousmanne... And this was the same thing said about argentina for a while, so at the end they heavily relying only on Messi when they have other players not stepping up or doing their job. After scoring a free-kick goal in the first match against Liverpool, I felt more satisfied than I had ever felt before. Even watching his mesmerizing performance and the grace with which he touched the ball until he scored two goals in that match was extremely satisfying. There was no moment in the rematch when I saw him helpless, but I saw Barcelona helpless for minutes. The football he played that season and the level he took Barcelona to was extraordinary. No other player can come close to this performance, no other football player can surpass a whole organization individually. Many fascinating moments should not have lost their importance because they were not crowned with a trophy

He truly deserved this UCL, that fire in his eyes, that desire to win, he did everything and gave everything, little man was shining in every game, and that 1 match when he couldn’t shine speaks a lot about that team in 2019, if he can’t do anything - nobody can. Btw, I can’t say he was bad in that game, he created many chances to score, at least 1 goal should’ve scored his teammates. Guys “ prime “ word means something’s peak, best times etc. but we used to use this word in football for players like Falcao, Kaka, Van Persie. So for the players once upon a time good players but not anymore Messi is always prime always goat so do not use this word w players like him like Suarez, Lewy, Ibrahimoviç etc. Even though Messi’s stats are higher in some seasons he is always the same player in affect the game. What makes it even better is that he competing against Messi and Ronaldo as a defender which no other player has done. 208 Ariel duels and only 1 loss in the prem with only 22 goals conceded in a non defensive team.

Every time somebody mentions 2019 I feel like crying honestly, he was so good To think that certain Ronaldo fanboys say the bdor 2019 was rigged and that Messi stole it from Virgil plus the fact that it was so close between Virgil and Messi is absurd. This is the best individual season any player in the world can ever have, you can talk about 2012, 2015 or even 2011 Messi, but 2019 Messi did not have an organized team around him, he was the main creator and the main goalscorer, the only thing he didn't do was defend. No player in history has ever come close to playing like this throughout an entire season and it's hard to imagine anyone ever will (hopefully I see another Messi during my life)

I still cannot get over it. Sometimes it comes to my mind and its is really haunting for me. That barca was fearsome and just this one match ruined it all. I think Suarez got injured and possibly would not play in the final against spurs, but in my opinion they would steamroll them regardless just like in the group stage where tehy gave them no chance.

That 2018/19 season for me personally can never be peaked. And I don't see any player ever even coming close to doing that. The level of performance week in week out, in the league, in the CL the MOTMs, just forget about the goals for a second. This was the single biggest carryjob anyone's ever done and its such a shame they couldn't cap it off with a treble. It was there... It was so close.

What a player. Can't get enough of watching him play. The team back then depended way too much on Messi to the point where nothing creative happened without his feet being part of it, which made it easier for the opponents to shut down Barca.
