Prime Minister Marape commends Papua New Guinea SMEs in agriculture 

Prime Minister Hon. James Marape has praised Papua New Guinea's small to medium enterprises (SMEs) for their ventures into the agricultural sector. During his address at the 6th SME Breakfast at APEC Haus in Port Moresby on Thursday, June 27, 2024, he commended the innovation and dedication of these enterprises.
The breakfast event concluded a successful four-day Credit Guarantee Corporation (CGC) Agri Business Expo, which showcased agricultural SMEs from across the country. Prime Minister Marape, who toured the SME stalls before his speech, expressed his admiration for the advancement in agriculture downstream processing - something that he is very passionate about.
He highlighted the critical role of the CGC, operating under the Bank of PNG and supported by the government. The CGC has established agreements with 10 leading financial institutions in the country to provide essential credit guarantees, supporting the growth and sustainability of SMEs in Papua New Guinea.
