Standard float glass has a slight green tint to it because of iron used in the glass formula. The white laminate reflects that tint so that the glass appears to have the slight tint when viewed. Using low iron glass, rather than standard float, will eliminate the green tint but it will still be reflective when comparing it to etched, however low iron is going to be a more expensive option. Etching is superior if someone wants to avoid shiny or reflective glass while the advantage to using laminated is ease of cleaning the glass over etched which can be difficult to keep clean due to having exposed micro-pores related to the etching process that can trap dirt.
