Loving all the uploads this week! Even shorter videos like this are such a joy to watch. Do you eat the berries after they have lost their flavor for the drink? Be careful out there in the summer heat, and keep the great content coming!
I bet those berries are loaded with antioxidants n super low in sugar which keeps your body in ketosis providing the body with crazy energy. Healing berries. I love the pots and pitchers!
As he sits down and takes a well deserved break from grinding the hard earth to make clay for his pottery, Chad looks out into the hot sky and thinks to himself “ a glass of lemonade would be god right now”
Tip for your garden: You should cover the soil with mulch. That is dry leaves (specially from leguminosae plants and trees, they add good amounts of nitrogen), bark, dry grass, ashes from the fire, almost whatever organic waste you have. It will increase the nutrients and microorganisms. Direct sunlight kills all soil's biodiversity. By the way, I love your videos, I learn a lot from them. Thank you very much! Greetings from Argentina
I really wish I had the guts to actually do something like this. Never could I imagine to Your level but I can dream. Living off the land always intrigued me
Just try it. I do it every year and I was scared at first.... 2hrs in on my 1st go, I felt great. No noises, no 🤳 phones no nothing but YOU and nature. Go for it 👌👍
Greetings from Kazakhstan Chad! I love your channel and respect you very much! You could boil these fruits (perhaps by grinding them beforehand), and then cool the resulting brew by leaving the bottle with it in the river. So you could get compote, and as cold as you need.
Plant the wooden base of the garden and make a simple frame and place the branches on the branches and make a canopy to keep away from direct sunlight, plants need less water.
Another interesting and informative video about wild edibles. Are the Sourberry as sour as, oh say, 🍋? You are correct about the berries ripening at the beginning of Summer. Here, in WV, I have noticed how every month, sometimes every week, a new plant comes in. Yes, nature provides.
yes they taste just like lemon you cant eat the berry it is just the outer part has a sour i dont know if it is a sap or what on the berrys I used to eat them as a child
Yup bad thing about living in the desert, if you have work to do outside, you have to start before sunrise and get finished before noon. No sleeping in.
Chad is the teacher, we are his students, knowledge applied is wisdom gained, the way things are going on PLANET EARTH these days, looks like we be going back to the primitive day's & start over from scratch, ✌️🤒
If you find a light plastic by dragging on the garden garden that evaporates through the plastic, it returns moisture to the ground, such as preparing water in the desert by placing a plastic on a pit with some plant inside.
You need to make a primitive ac unit . It’s made with stacked short clay pipes with water dripping over them , it cools the air with a breeze blowing through them.
Garden is looking good! It survived the planting shock very well. Your pottery skills have enabled you to create what you need. I love the watering method. It should help in the hot, dry climate you are growing in. Your sourberryaide looks delicious!! I wonder it you can dry and preserve them for later use.
Hello Chad! Recently, I started helping my grandmother tend her garden and learned that if you water the plant during the day, you need to make sure that water does not get on the leaves, otherwise the sun can burn them. I don't know if you know this, but I saw you watering the pumpkin leaves. Sorry if I'm saying too much, it's just that it was also my mistake, and now I want to save everyone from it :) Sorry for my English, I used google translatе.
@@ChadZuberAdventures As I understand it, the reason is that a drop of water function like a magnifying glass. It collects the rays of the sun and can burn the leaves. That's how my grandmother explains it.
Ever thought of starting a tribe? Might be kinda cool to see how that develops. Then again, being alone isn't so bad either. You can do whatever you want without fear of being judged or the anxiety that comes with a social environment.
i watched something the other day about how you can make your own clay. Really it is all about pouring from one jug to another. It was so simple I never thought about it. All you have to do is mix up some dirt in some water and let sit for about an hour then slowly pour in to another container. The heavy stuff at the bottom is non clay stuff and the milky dirt is suspended clay. The more times you do this the purer the clay becomes. Time does matter as if you let it sit too long the clay will drop. Once you are at your desired level you can let the mixture sit for a day and then pour off the water and end up with a bottom layer of pure wet clay to which left in the sun should make usable.
When I'm making videos I really don't have time to take care of myself. My hands and nails have been much worse in the past though, especially in the winter.
@@ChadZuberAdventures true !!! you can't take much care due to lack of time but as you use your hands and fingers more aggressively you ought to spend some time for them too! My thoughts though!!!
Fascinating video as usual Chad! It’s cool that you can make wild lemonade. Unfortunately I live a bit too far north to find sourberry bushes, but maybe one day I can try it. It’s great to see the garden update, I hope the cages work. I have a tip that will help you to save water and fertilize your garden at the same time. Save your urine in a container, and immediately dilute it by half with water. Use this to water each of your plants. You only need to apply it once every day or two, and you will be amazed at how much more green and vigorous your plants will be. The urine provides nitrogen.
So awesome to see that you e made a garden! Watching you eat the sour berries made my mouth watery... I was imagining the sourness of the berries... hahahah!
Wow 3 videos on the trot! Talking of trot, don't the sourberries give you the trots?! Your garden is coming on. Hope the plants survive your absence and go from strength to strength.
I would try harvesting a good amount of berries and preserve them. You could sun dry them or make fruit leather. Or possibly jams but that might be difficult. You could also try to make alcohol with some, or vinegar. Just an idea. You might also be able to do the same with prickly pear or outhers. You said some of the plants don't produce everything year and I don't know much about sugar bush. But it would probably be nice to have some of them for when it's cold or for the next year
Sourberries can be collected and stored for later use but won't work for fruit leather because they have so little pulp. There are other berries that are better for that.
👍👌👏 Sourberries seem to be another great resource out of nature. 2) Suggestion: Catch the plant eating rodents and eat them! ;-) Best regards, luck and health.
@@ChadZuberAdventures I know it grows indigenously out there in Mexico. I hope your garden is doing well. My mint and chilis are making it through the drought here. Your bean growing inspired me to do plant some cantaloupe seeds. Lots of sprouts. We will see if I get any melons.
Hey Chad, you should remove seed and cook the berries, and once they cook, mix it with different type of berries, so it gives a unique taste! You can also ferment it 🤷♂️
@@ChadZuberAdventures that’s very true, but it was just a suggestion, seeing u out there doing something stuff most won’t, is motivational and inspiring. You should reward yourself for the hard work you have done by making something for yourself?
This is so inspiring! I wish I had met a man like this in my life, I would have been living this way without any fake needs but sadly I made bad choices and only met guys who couldn't do anything with their 10 fingers...
Abração e obrigada por me trazer lembranças ótimas bjs😘
