The base of the kiln where the majority of heat stays should be at least 2x as thick to prevent cracking and increase longevity. You could also use ancient cement you make for a sealing and insulation layer on outside. I believe that I have been thoroughly inspired to go source some clay and limestone to build a nice forge and pottery kiln. I love watching your videos. I always watch them first when they appear in my feed.
I believe the kiln was only meant for the short term so that he could create the oven. In his older videos he has done the same thing. I found this channel 3 years ago and love it completely.
Chemistry right there..............................(calcium hydroxide, Ca(OH)2) when water is added to lime (CaO) is exothermic. CaO(s) + H2O (l) → Ca(OH)2(s)
@@CaiValProcillus the black "stones" are coal. Which allows the kiln to burn hot enough to turn the calcium carbonate in the limestone into calcium oxide.

I dont think he made it. Most of the these types of channels shows the process of how you would do it with the tools that they made. But after they would use more modern tools to get the project finished in a timely fashion. If they used the tools they have. It would take 3-5 times longer to do anything.
Anyone can do it. Just know what you want to make and use what you have around you. In the game of survival there are no rules, building codes or people to tell you not to get dirty or try a new thing. I went in my backyard and started cutting a tree down. Had no plan, just wanted to see where the mood took me. Next thing I know I made a firepit to burn the wood and expanded my patio to meet it, planed some boards out of the trunk and made a bench to sit on.
With a chimney just immediately after the door (between the door, and the dome of the oven so that it is understood) the smoke is prevented from returning and not from in the face. In addition, the mouth of the oven is prevented from turning black.

Wow. This young man shows, if you want it bad enough, and work smart at it, you can have it. Nice job. Slaking the burnt quick lime to hydrated lime was interesting. Bet your hands took some abuse. Take care.
All of his homesteading videos in chronological order with no overlapping or repetition :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6HgEpaVqfx0.html
I know it's more work, but I feel like cob construction would serve you better. upgrade from JUST mud to mud with plant fibers, for more strength and crumbling resistance. Ahhh, so cob is enough of a hassle to reserve for more permanent fixtures? since I see you using it in your oven. interesting.
The outer walls of the oven are perfectly functional but are you concerned that it might burn a hole through the base as it is sitting ontop of logs covered in a thin layer of dirt? Otherwise excellent video, always look forwards to these!
There was no clay on the base of the oven, but the packed earth base should protect the logs. Dirt is a really good insulator, and wood doesn't spontaneously combust until it hits REALLY high temperatures.
Its an awesome video, dont get me wrong, BUT... WTF with dat rock and mortar construction just to put a dirt and than make d oven? U could just build it with dat rox and mortar! and btw, d roof is super NOT secure!
When you make a build with concurite you should dry with water everyday. İf you wash with water everyday Your build dont crashing. Only 3 day you must make this
