In my eyes, there are about 5 bands who have played Tar: Primitive Man (especially "Empty Husk") Crawl ("II" from This Sad Cadav'r, too heavy for metal-archives) The Body ("Prayers Unanswered") possibly Indian ("Directional," "Rape") and maybe Torpor ("Agalma" and maybe "From This Time")
@@guitaristcam5573 one of my favorite things to do with friends is this kind of stuff. We'll each hold the same tone and then on of us bends the string out of tune so that it wavers to a steady pulse. This kind of music + microtones are incredible.
A few years back I got to host this band at my house the same night our radio tower did its first live broadcast. Fucking Awesome. I am going to take that show with me to the grave.
I find this relaxing. Some here write about how hateful this is or how they got a boner (who gives a fuck?) or down-tuning. All I hear is a beautiful composition, a great moody piece of music, awesome mix and lots of talent behind this song. Nicely done PM. Oh yeah, that "visualization" video is much better than most official metal videos. I like it.
I said it before and I'll say it again: Primitive man is *the* heaviest band on the planet. Even bands like Indian, Opium Lord, Coffinworm, Black Tongue, Neurosis, Bong Ripper,etc. don't even come close. Black metal bands WISH they sounded this evil. Srs tho some of the most wretched, disgusting hateful noise on planet Earth. It is tough to listen to in the same sense that Requiem for a Dream is a hard movie to watch. Bruh you put this on 1.5 speed and it's still fucking slow lmao
the only thing I can think of that is on par in heaviness and dissonance would be something like Throat by Little Woman. Though an entirely different genre.
Hate making band comparisons, but I think this could fix alot of that need for growling that Opeth fans have been wanting. These dudes are a doomy mix of Opeth and Deftones, I love it to bits.
Not even a five strings bass can be down tuned as low as the guitars here! Lyrics are cool! Also I watched this at 2x and the song was still slow as fuck!

I don't get what everybody is freaking out about here. This is pretty much an assemblage of par for the course Blackened Doom motifs. It's a pretty terrific example but it's not breaking any new ground or anything.
Yeah I'm at a loss as to why people are losing their collective shit, I love doom/sludge but this doesn't do the slightest thing for me, it's like Corrupted if they were even more slower & boring. I loved the last PM, nice and midpaced.

I was all "oh, sweet! New Primitive Man!" then clicked on the link and listened and was all "hmm...this is a different direction..." then about 6 min in I realized it's Mutoid Man I like, not this. This is heavy AF and I guess has it's own charm but holy shit, take it somewhere for fuck's sake.
No, it's sludge. Stop throwing doom at everything until you understand what it actually is. This is sludge/post-metal, and it is also not very good, original, or unique. This band is highly overrated, pretentious bullshit for ignorant people who think they know art but don't have a clue.
