Right! The thing is, this is guy is not just doing videos half ass. I've seen the other Primitive channels try to do their own take, and its just bad. very rushed videos and not very soothing to watch. But this guy is just like the OG from Australia. Quality videos.

He's riding the wave of popularity... nothing wrong with that.. original guy dosn't put out any where near the volume of videos so hes just filling the vacuum

Everyone does a fish pond, then a swimming pool, a hut, a this and a that ... guess when you're using only primitive stuff, using materials directly at your disposal, you kinda all fall in line making the same stuff, where only the design will change (and possible utility). It's not like there are 50.000 ways to do things and be original when you're using mud, clay, stone ... etc ...

For the record John Plant (Primitive Technology) has previously applauded channels similar to his own. He thinks they're great and a great way to share knowledge and passions.

For the record, I'm not criticizing in ANY way shape or form. I'm merely stating the fact that given similar materials and primitive techniques / tools, you can only do so much, so evidently, all primitive channels will eventually be a copy of one another, with a different take on how someone else did something. I have no issue in seeing more channels with similar content, because there is always one that will bring something different ant new to the table,it's always interesting. I'm a Plasterer - Painter, a Compagnon du Devoir. Our work ethic is to look at how everyone else does stuff, and take what works better and integrate it into our own technique, then to share what we have learned with others so that the cycle of perfection can continue and evolve into what will one day be the very best technique to do something. So I got no issues what so ever. Love all of these primitive channels because they still teach me something new every other video.

lol, i have gotten that one too, & during this one i got a weedeater & a log splitter.. I was thinking it would have been nicer if they'd showed me a good digital video camera & editing program!

The soil has an extremely high clay content in his little valley, perfect for rice farming. It'll hold water no problems. His irrigation system will keep it topped up to counter the small amount that will soak down and for evaporation.

Correct, this small pond is a hatchery, where fish will be able to grow and eventually make it into the big pond, possibly also into the rice fields. Pretty soon he will have plenty of food and he already has all the fresh water he needs; he'll be self sufficient soon.

IMO the main goal of the pond is for spawning

Its uphill slightly. The side with no wall is high enough to contain the water in the pond.

As long the water is moving and there are guppies in the water the eggs won't have a chance to develop!

P5ykoOHD in my experience very few fish will be able to live in this w/e tf u call this but these plants wont live unless they are aquatic plants liu

The little pond is for baby fish, this is where they will be safe from bigger fish, once they get large enough they will go in to the bigger pond, this pond most likely will be used to feed the rice paddies, the waste from the fish will be used to add fertilizer to the rice. It is an evolving water system.
