There's something about just connecting pipes to move water around that's immensely entertaining to watch. I really enjoyed this. Keep it up! I will be interested in seeing what you do with this new source of water, which seems to have more velocity and volume that your previous system.

A water mill needs way more water. Unless it is a tenny tinny mill that does nothing. The water at the place he started the pipes at, would be enough

@@eberbacher007 not quite that stright forward yes amount of water is important but so is the force it has one would have more energy from 10L water from 10m high than 10L water from 1m high.
@travispluid3603
@travispluid3603 5 лет назад
@eberbacher007 He could do a resevoir-fed watermill. You know, a suspended reservoir that stores water until it reaches a point, likely lifting a float, before the water is released all at one in a high pressure stream through the new opening. It'd take a while to refill, but you could have some power stored up in a tank big enough.

Great upgrade of the water system!!! I dunno, but if you plan on using it for driving a wheel and a hammer or something maybe you can build a reservoir close to the house and use it kind of like a battery. You fill it up when you need to do something that takes a lot of power only. Yes, it will run out fast but when it's full it's more powerful than a human for a short time. Just a thought! :D

I'm curious at how many segments were used in the original, vs the remake, it looks like those bamboo poles are MUCH longer. I love how they segment like Legos. naturally tapering down to fit into the next one. Humans who have had the fortune of living in tropical areas where Bamboo is natural, has gotten such a miraculous plant to harness it's value. it's so bloody useful!

At what point does primitive technology no longer become primitive?
@gogotrololo
@gogotrololo 5 лет назад
arguably he has already surpassed primitive life with the use of metallurgy. primitive life for me is pre-metal, however from a technology standpoint, the first tech breakthrough started with bronze... so he is still primitive tech. electricity will be a clear advance point, but i also think that certain star watching, or chemical, or mathematical projects (like involving some of the Arab breakthroughs near 1000AD) would be an indicator that he's gone too far haha

That's pretty good! One project I would love to see is ether a clay and brick or stone reservoir for this pipe to empty into and irrigation coming from that. So in the advent of some kind of failure of the system you still have a tank of water available. Also. Down at the far end toward your out flow you could dog down and create deeper water so that your fish have more room. When fish have room to swim they get bigger. Bigger fish would be more resistant to all sorts of hazards and would be better food source. It's a lot of work to dig. But in the end it would increase your food sources.

Maybe you could power a blower for your forge. I'm sure you have a lot of cool projects involving iron lined up. I don't know what the best order for crafting these would be. I would probably make a large ingot that you can use for bashing, followed by a small anvil with a horn. It would be best to hold off on hardening the surface until you make a punch/chisel to cut an eye hole in your anvil. Then, I would reforge the big ingot into a rough maul axe that you can use for smithing. Once you have your hammer and anvil shaped, you can proceed to harden the working surfaces and work on building as good of a rectangular file as you can eyeball. With a decent file and the tools needed to make a wide variety of chisels, you could make practically anything you want. You'd be on your way to a steam engine within a year.

I love the improved water supply. Referring back to your first water supply, I suggested a water wheel for your smelting furnace. Please now make a simple water wheel to turn a fan blower fan in your smelting furnace. The water supply you have is quite enough for that purpose. We are not talking about turning a 450KW generator. or a 1K RPM blower. Just a simple slow turning, primitive air blower so you can cast larger tools with out the full undivided attention of a human power air blower. I really enjoy watching your channel.

I’ve worked with mountain stream water supplies, and the intake will not survive the first heavy flood. You need a VERY sturdy intake if you are to avoid continual running repairs. Remember, the largest rocks in and around the stream get thrown around by flood water, and your intake needs to withstand those rocks, not just the water flow. But to the comments about machine power, yes you have all the hydro energy you could need now! Hydro powered furnace bellows for increased iron production perhaps?
