Hey man, watched a lot of your videos and really appreciate them. Would love a small description about the place your going to don’t have say the gems but a brief description would help us find these areas
Singletons Seafood Shack has been around quite a while. You were near my home. Camped on the Mayport Little Jetties several times. Peter's Point is a great beach, haven't camped there. Yet... Looks like an awesome trip!
@@OverlandFlorida I agree, it is pricey, I am a Disabled Vet, so I get an annual Pass for free. Residents pay $100 for an annual pass I think (unless you go as much as we do, it isnt worth it).
porpoise point in vilano and a-street in st augustine are also nice beaches to drive on. awesome video again kevin. fyi, what is the setup on ron's 4runner. i don't see it as much in your videos.
I am a local and I did not know about his place but it is my recommendation that you keep the masses from knowing about it because in due time it will be completely ruined like the rest of the state. Developers, tourists, and snow birds have destroyed FL and new laws have made it impossible to enjoy nature. I understand your intentions and I'm glad you told me because I do a lot of camping as well.
Dont let locals hear you say that about Singletons!! It was on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives a while back..lol.. There is ton more to explore up here... HMU next time your coming up!!
I have the Thule Roof Rack and cargo basket on my Crew max Tundra... works well. Side note.. are you going to relocate the antenna on the front of your truck? that would drive me crazy looking at.
Northeast Florida Personal Watercraft illegal to camp in the parking lot now. Used to be a favorite for boondockers. Still legal to camp on the beach year round, but there are seasonal regulations regarding fires b/c of sea turtles. $5/ day $25/year permit is required if you are not a Nassau County resident.
David H Thanks for the clarification I really hope you’re correct. There are so few places that I can take my Tacoma and tent left that it would be a shame if this was also taken away.
Northeast Florida Personal Watercraft trust me, it’s well patrolled. That said it needs to be used a lot by responsible people (and forgotten about by irresponsible people) so that it will remain that way.
Hey man I’m going to be moving to the fort Myers area within a year. I own a Jeep JLU lifted on 35s and am wondering what kind of off roading/overlanding there is out near fort Myers?
Overland Florida okay cool I haven’t been there yet. Last week I was 2 hours East in Big Cypress. It’s amazing it only takes me an hour to get from Fort Lauderdale to Naples but when going overland that time quadruples. Have fun!
Awesome! Look forward to catching up with you all sometime. What's your e-mail? This is the closest I get to social media. Thanks for the past, present and future videos!!!
Looks like a blast! I was looking into camping there but wasn’t aware you could have a fire on the beach. Does your girlfriend not go out with you anymore? Last time I saw you two together was boating on the chain of lakes .
Eric Kraft no you’re not. Throw some gas in it, know your vehicles limits, and go for it. Expensive gear is nice, but not at all required. I personally Camp most of the time in a $40 tent that I bought 6+ years ago that I’ve waterproofed the crap out of. I enjoy using it, and have no current intentions of ever buying a rooftop unit. I’ll never say never, but I don’t know why I would. You’ll see my white Tacoma in several of these videos (including this one), usually with that goofy little tent set behind it. I promise you I’m just as happy as anyone in their $1000+ rooftop. The rest of the stuff you can just acquire as you go. I do have a really nice sleeping pad and bag, but I’d be ok with a foam pad and a blanket. Buy a $10 DZO cup (one of my favorite camping things I own) and lid off of amazon, and find a grate out of an old oven or grill on the side of the road and you have all you really need to cook over a fire. All this fancy stuff is great, and lots of fun to use and play with, but totally not necessary. The biggest thing is getting off the couch, gassing up the truck, and going for it.
I've heard they are very strict about alcohol on that beach. Even cops doing cooler inspections. Too bad Florida didn't set aside more beaches like that. Developers & realtors have ruined this state! I actually did the outer banks run this summer. Well worth it!
