Gotta love Davie504 in his early stuff. The silent character that just killed it on the bass and just some few written words. Sort of a Mr Bean of the bass. Still dig the new stuff, but the old shit is still good.

This is a prime example of why Davie really is one of the greatest. Each of these bass lines is technically challenging, Les is a true master and very few would play this as easy as Davie does. And to top it off - because I’ve seen other play it as well - Davie has that swing. He digs it. He gets it. It has the same pop, the same jive. It’s amazing. Although I love him also for the bantz and the memes, his skill is really humongous, and crazy impressive.

Fun fact: Les did have bass guitars with 5 or 6 strings, but he used only 4 most of the time. During the frizzle fry era and long after. So feel free to practice some sweet les basslines for those who have a 4strings (including me :)

He started using six strings on sea of cheese in 91, but it was fretted . He got the fretless 6 string before pork soda and used it a lot.

Dude I'm so happy! Seriously I feel like I have reached a historical milestone in my attempt to learn how to play bass... I FINALLY can play along up to 2:31 with this video!!! For real, at WBBB, I am still totally lost for the moment but that will change some day! I'm just happy I finally learned Tommy The Cat! @@TomerBusidan well, i don't think there is a "better" one. just two different styles. davie is much more aggressive and rough. almost like a rock or punk attitude. giving his covers a very "badass" vibe while charles... with his "pro" experience... is much more of a smooth, precise, and clear player. similar to jazz or classical (which he does so a lot) players.

@@riverpb5250 Charles is fantastic. Honestly one of the best bass players I've ever seen. So definitely not a dig against him, I sub to his channel and love his work. But when it comes to sounding like Primus, I thought Davie's takes were closer to the originals is all. Might have also been due to the background "drums" that he used vs. Davie's.
