The fact his advisors couldn’t see red flags in his answers just shows how out of touch this institution is with the real world… did they honestly think this was going to be his saving grace? He was given every opportunity to show empathy and it was pure narcissism. Amazing

Interesting that his response is “I have no recollection” rather than “I would absolutely never engage in activities with a minor”

Emily Mathis did a brilliant job as interviewer. Not afraid to ask tough questions, her facts were spot on yet she did not unduly interrupt or talk over Andrew at any time. A masterclass

“I don’t think it’s appropriate for us to keep in contact” *goes for a walk with him in NYC*

only a narcissist goes on camera thinking he can deceive the whole world. unbelievable.

The Interview was a success. Prince Andrew finally regained his ability to sweat.

I didn't want to be "seen" with him. Not "I didn't want to be friends with such a vile person."

He is a terrible liar and the funny thing is he thinks he is good.

He sounds like a 3 year old lying to his mom about eating chocolate, with the chocolate all over his face....

Imagine finding out that your friend had not only slept with an underage girl but there were many and they were trafficking them. You wouldn’t honourably end the friendship, especially as a father of daughters, you’d be livid. You’d have him beat up! And when being accused of sleeping with someone when you are married, you don’t ask yourself hmmm did i? You know, there’s no chance in hell. He’s absolutely, undeniably guilty.

Emily is hands down, the absolute best interviewer I have ever seen. This should be taught as an interrogation technique to law enforcement. She is freaking amazing.

I watched "Scoop" last night, and somehow the real interview is so much worse than the film depiction. 😂

This is so painful to watch. He’s clearly lying.

What we’re witnessing is a man who has never had to face consequences for his actions being held to account for the first time in his life. And it really shows.

I just finished the movie "Scoop" and I thought the recreation was uncomfortable. Wow! Absolutely the most cringeworthy interview I've ever seen.

It’s painful seeing how much he’s struggling to lie…and so obviously guilty. And…it wasn’t only one minor.

"I thought it was appropriate to meet in person to let him know it was no longer appropriate for us to meet in person"

Police: "why are you in a car with thieves and coke dealers?" Prince Andrew: "I'm too honorable to leave"

Had to re-watch this after watching SCOOP on Netflix. The full version is so damning, the lack of empathy, the total disregard for any question given to him, a man who has clearly been used to being agreed with and believed on every level since birth. He states that he never met Virginia, he doesn't know her. Why, I wonder would one give 12 Million Pounds to a complete stranger who has "falsely" accused you. A shocking display of privilege, arrogance, emotional disconnection, a dissembling interviewee who had no thought for anyone other than himself and his own gratification. A National figure who IS and will forever REMAIN a National Disgrace.

4 years ago and this is still one of the most cringeworthy interviews. She did an amazing job. She literally just handed him a shovel and let him dig.

“You stayed at the home of a convicted sex offender.” “It was a convenient place to stay.” Absolutely insane.

Her composure and methodical pace through the hour is awe- inspiring.

A liar is bad enough, but an arrogant liar, even worse.

This is a text book case of “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt”.

The lady did a sterling job, keeping him under fire but being careful not to offend him enough for him to walk out. She knew what she was doing.

“There’s no way that could be my arm around that girl in the photo, at the time I didn’t have arms.”

It’s just insane. Firstly the Netflix show depicted this so well. I never watched the original interview until today. The lies are sickening. You are a father to a girl and you stay with a convicted sex offender for daysssss. You just happen to visit him everytime you’re in the US but not for “massages” only for convenience. Like how dumb did he think the world was please?

Soooo many things wrong with this man. I could fill a book. But one of the most insane and horrific, to the point of wanting to shake him and scream profanities at him, is when he describes his conversation with Epstein in 2010. Saying that he was ending the friendship due to the scrutiny on himself as a member of the royal family. That it would be inappropriate for them to be seen together. Not something to the effect of “you have been convicted of sex crimes against a minor; one of the most disgusting and heinous things a person could ever do; therefore I want nothing to do with you. You are an evil human being and I’m horrified that I ever thought of you as a friend”. He only ends the friendship due to the optics of it all. I don’t understand how someone could think that that makes sense and still consider themselves to be a good person. The lack of intelligence and any kind of self awareness that would lead a person to think that it makes sense to say that he went to have a public, in person conversation to tell someone that you can’t see them anymore. It’s inconceivable. He says that we have to remember that at the time he was the patron of the NSPCC’s full stop campaign, he was supposed to be a champion for children. Yet there is no mention of him chastising Epstein during that conversation, defending the children he has been empowered to protect, not does he express any disgust in Epstein’s behaviour. Which leads to, why would he be disgusted if he, himself was exhibiting the same behaviour. He gives himself away over and over throughout the interview. He is the lowest form of human. Someday he will have to answer for what he has done, even if it’s not in this lifetime. He is the lowest form of human. I could go on and on but I will leave it there for now.

"A foot massage"? You see that's impossible at the time I had no feet, I was fighting in the Falklands and lost both feet so u see madame a foot massage is impossible

I’ve just viewed Scoop on Netflix so I came here and my God he was worst in reality than what we saw in the movie. Unbelievable.

There's so much more interesting material in the full interview that wasn't in the movie. But I get it, there's no way they could have fit everything in, but it's crazy how much more he messes up in the real thing.

People seem to laugh when guilty and being questioned. Someone innocent being accused of such things would take this so incredibly seriously as they told of their innocence. Nothing to be laughing at.

Funny how when his not lying he can speak normally.. soon as he is lying he stutters constantly..

The fact that he thought this interview was a good idea is mind boggling. And how he is not in jail is even more mind boggling.

Who ever suggested this interview to him wanted to throw him under the bus.

Prince Andrew says, “ I don’t know why people think I’ve partied” maybe because of all of the pictures of you dancing at clubs and.. sweating uncontrollably

Who is here after the Netflix Movie?

He never once talks about how disgusting or wrong sex is with a child, or the filth that is sex trade. He never says he was shocked to hear of Epstein's immoral actions, or any indignation at it. He thought he prepped for this interview, but he didn't answer as someone not in the know, but someone covering for himself.

"... it was inappropriate for us to be seen together" Instead of: "... it was inappropriate to have any association with him"

I'm watching this after the film on Netflix, but I still can't believe he actually said all that. The fact that the royals thought his words were good proves how dystopian their idea of ​​royal life is! 😲

Anyone else here from Scoop wondering why Andrew's team didn't jump in after 2 minutes and shut this whole thing down?! Or at least beg them to delete the footage before release if the Queen and her staff really did get to listen first?!

Watched this interview after watching Scoop. Emily just kind of sits back and lets Andrew back himself into a corner and self destruct.
