If this scene was added to the final cut, I bet those people who started hating Peter because of his decision previously in this movie wouldn't be as much as it was when this movie was released. Peter's soothing and kind voice and his and Caspian becoming friends...
@@anniekaroth5636 I don't have the DVD, but I have the Blu-ray, these scenes are on the bonus disc. The "Blu-ray 2-disc edition" is the one you should look for. And after searching on the internet, I just saw tjhat the 3-disc DVD version also has it. There is also a DVD 2-disc edition, but the content is a little different in each country, so just look at the back of the cover before buying. I recommend the Blu-ray for the image quality.
yes its from the book. They should have included this scene. it shows peter and caspian were not really against each other which seems to be the case in the movie:(
"I was thinking of a career in medicine." THIS MAKES ME WANT TO CRY because Peter thought that he wouldn't make it and that Caspian's life was more important to his own and this also shows them no longer as enemies and "I was thinking of a career in medicine." GODS THAT LINE MAKES ME WANT TO CRY BECAUSE IT MEANS HE ALSO DIDN'T WANT TO FIGHT IN THE WAR, HE PROBABLY WANTED TO HELP PEOPLE INSTEAD AND HE DIDN'T WANT THERE TO BE ANYMORE CHANCES OF HIM DYING AND NOT RETURNING TO HIS FAMILY AND UGH I'm gonna go cry in a corner, they should've kept this bloody scene
‘i was thinking of a career in medicine’ makes me feel a certain kinda way and not just because peter didnt think he would make it, but also because deep down, he probably knew they wouldnt be staying in narnia forever even if they won. otherwise he wouldve had no reason to think about his future in our world if he thought he could make it through the duel.
They really should have cut back on the battle scenes (they were a mite too long anyhow) and left this in. Why? Because here, Peter sounds so much like he does in the book; I think this is some of William's best acting and it's a pity it's not in the actual movie. Still, I'm glad it's included in the deleted scenes anyway!
That would have been better. This dialogue got a bit cheesy (well not the parts straight from the book, with the bear sucking on his paws. That's hilarious and I love that they actually filmed it).
@@ChaosPod I don't recall Caspian being injured. I think the main argument was the fact that Miraz raised Caspian, so he still saw him as a child and thus wouldn't treat him seriously (in the book Caspian was about fourteen years old). The fact that Caspian's survival was key for the future leadership of Narnia was also important.
@@niewesoa5299 Prince Caspian CHAPTER TWELVE "You're bleeding," said Peter. "Yes, I'm bitten," said Caspian. "It was that - that wolf thing." Cleaning and bandaging the wound took a long time, and when it was done Trumpkin said, "Now. Before everything else we want some breakfast."
I love this scene. I wish they never deleted this. I like where Caspian asks Peter about his future and he says he was thinking about a career in medicine.
they should have left this scene in the movie - i always wondered why caspian didn't fight miraz in the first place, and not to mention it strengthens the friendship with caspian and peter...
It's explained in the book. Peter reminds Caspian that the reason for the duel at all is for his (Caspian's) right to the throne. So basically, it would not be proper for Caspian himself to fighting for his chance at the throne.
This is a really good scene (and includes more lines from the book) I wish it hadn't been deleted! I was sad they didn't include anything about the bear sucking his paws in the movie. oh well. at least it is here!
The main I liked about this deleted scene is that it gives more screen time to the titular Main character and the supposed MAIN MAIN Character. It gives a vibe as well that the rule of Narnia is slowly passing over to Caspian.
Probably because the bear was out of character from the rest of the movie. Plus Peter talking to Caspian about his plans in our world doesn't really fit.
Okay I know this comment is from four years ago, but I do agree with you that the bear was a bit out of character. Though having the bear come is good because it shows Narnians are also animals. However I disagree about Peter talking about his plans in our world. I think it fits perfectly because of later in the movie, how Peter and Susan talk with Aslan and know they must go back. He fit more in our world.
+ChelseCreek84 I agree almost entirely. The bear stuff was funny (and straight from the book) but broke with the serious tone of the rest of the scene. I liked Peter talking about his plans, I mean they made quips about our world all the time, and it made clear what the stakes were. I love the juxtaposition of the medicine line and looking at his armour...
I now understand why everyone says that Caspian admired Peter, but I HATE THE SHIPPING!!!!!!!!!!!! LIKE Caspian and Susan were meant for each other! But at least I understand why everyone says that he looked up to him.
When Caspian was younger, he heard stories about High King Peter, King Edmund, Queen Susan and Queen Lucy from his Nurse. When Miraz found out about the fact that Nurse was enlightening Caspian about the rulers of the Golden Age of Narnia, Miraz banished the Nurse and replaced her with Doctor Cornelius (Caspian's tutor). But even Doctor Cornelius told him the truths(secretly) about Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy and helped Caspian escape when Miraz ordered to kill Caspian. Caspian grew up hearing stories of the four rulers and he thus admired the four of them greatly.Part of the reason for admiring Peter was during their reign even Narnia's enemies respected him. Yes, both Narnia's allies and enemies respected Peter. He was(is) such a great King. So, Caspian deeply admired Peter.
@@nilimachowdhury7928 I agree with the other thing you said. Caspian did look up to Peter. BUT. I'm gonna have to disagree with this. I personally love the Susan-Caspian ship but ur free to think what u want!
Most of the time when there is a duel (If we look towards history) the duelist chooses a second or multiple seconds. They take over when you die. Though I'm not sure why they would choose a second here, seeing as the winning conditions are met when a duelist dies, so a second would not be needed.
o4mscentrum WHY do the humans look real, and the Bear and Reepicheep look like bad puppets, or poorly drawn temporary "place holder," characters? Weird. Best deleted, for that reason only.
+Maartje van de Kerkhof FROM O4MSCENTRUM 1/13/2016 I don;t use many electronic devices...just my MacBook....I don't "get" your "troll" comment....but I stand by my Loving Narnia tales all my life stance: Here, in this offering? Bear and Reeep look like robots.
They were not done with editing the animated characters, and since they obviously decided to scrap this scene before they finished editing, they didn't finish the animation.
