Prince Charles departs hospital visit with his father in tears

Prince Charles has left in tears after visiting his father, the Duke of Edinburgh, in a London hospital.
Pictures have revealed the Prince of Wales wearing a mask with tears in his eyes after spending around 30 minutes with his father.
Prince Philip was admitted to hospital on Tuesday after feeling unwell however Buckingham Palace says the Duke's admission is a precautionary measure and not COVID-19 related.
The 99-year-old is expected to remain under observation.

This is incorrect. You can visit relatives in hospital. If the person is gravely ill / dying, the staff are brilliant at working with you to enable you to see your relative. This happened in my family in January.

@Christina Bonvillian maybe all of those people who have been denied the chance to visit ill relatives might think that the system feels somewhat unfairly balanced. Of course he should be able to see his father, but the compassion needs to be there for others too.

Yes in most places in special circumstances they are now. He is in a private hospital and not on a covid ward and quite likely in an end of life situation so yes would be allowed a visitor.

To everyone making snide comments about one rule for us and another for them, things have changed for all patients. Unless someone is dying of covid most hospitals are now allowing relatives to visit their seriously ill or dying relatives. I know because a friend's husband died last week and both she and her daughter were able to be with him at the end. It seems some humanity is creeping in at long last ... not before time though.

Where are you all getting the idea that we cannot visit our dying relatives? My uncle died (of cancer) in January and both his children were allowed to visit him in hospital, and were with him at the last. A lot of this is dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

It’s good he can visit his father in hospital. Many cannot visit their loved ones. Many have not even been able to say goodbye when their loved ones passed away. This Prince Charles needs to be made aware of that.
