Prince Charles waxing Barbour jacket at factory in South Shields 

The royal, 72, arrived at Newcastle Central Station this morning alongside commuters ahead of a jam-packed day of engagements in the North East city. Greeted by Lord-Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear Susan Winfield, Charles unveiled a plaque marking 40 years of the city's Metro before heading to meet former Girls Aloud singer Cheryl at Cheryl's Trust Centre, part of The Prince's Trust charity, which opened in the city in 2017.
