I think the crux of the issue was that the public was OK with them leaving. Everyone thought “ok they don’t want to be working Royals? No problem, we wish them well in their quest for a quiet life”. This flies in the face of the theory THEY were the future of the monarchy and THEY were so incredibly popular and the rest of the family were just jealous of their so called star quality. Bottom line, the public were fine with them leaving and that’s not what they wanted - which we’ve seen in a non stop daily assault of puff pieces about how great they are. It STILL can’t win the public over. Markle does not have the star quality she believes and it shows.

Imagine being the daughter-in-law of a King with money, one of his only two son's wife and fuck it up. It hurts! It really hurts! How can a person miss such an opportunity!

I disagree with the idea that William and Catherine wanted Harry and Meghan back. They aren't stupid enough to think that Harry and Meghan would toe the line, do their assigned duties and not cause more grief and more trouble than they were worth. As much as we've seen publicly in regards to Harry and Meghan...behind the scenes they were probably 10 times worse. So no way, would William and Catherine want to deal with them again.

As someone from a Commonwealth country, I can tell you there was no "constitutional crisis" when This One and his Wife decided to leave the British Royal Family. They are basically irrelevant to our constitutions.

All I can say is I'm glad William was born first. Can you imagine if it had been the other way around..omg it would have been a total nightmare.

The other reason they càn never go back not only will family talk to them but no member of the palace staff will ever work with them. I think the Palace is going to cancel the staff NDA's or turn a blind eye to any staff that speak out. Charles paid H & M until the end of that financial year ( Dutchy accounts prove that ) plus between what he inherited from his mother ( Diana ) and his great grandmother ( Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother ) he probably had as much as 30 million, in this day and age whinging he has no money does not go down well ( many people cant afford rent, heating costs and food ) if I had a few hundred away for a rainy day I feel lucky, if I had 30 million I would feel so lucky, I could buy myself my son and daughter their own homes and keep us all without any of us working if we did not want to . H & M are lazy and want a billionaire lifestyle without doing any work ever.

Love love love the whole Middleton family. They are "real" but wholesome, kind hearted and loving towards each other... they have helped "modernize" and stabilize the royal family through Catherine's marriage to William and her role as POW/future Queen-consort IMO. I'm glad that as an extension of Catherine we get to meet and enjoy the rest of her family... especially James and Pippa and their families.

In the minds of Harry and Meghan, they believed the fanfare of their wedding and the love people had for Harry in particular, was their golden ticket and rode roughshod over any sensible plans to leave the Monarchy. I'm from South Africa & believe me, the well-known people often come here to get away from it all. We just don't care. We've got real problems here. The very first thing Harry would have been told was that the British Government would not be funding his overseas security if they left the UK. It's fundamental that palace officials would have done their due diligence and ask for a ruling, once the Queen had decided that grifting off the back of Harry's royal pedigree wasn't an option. Their intentions were clear on their Sussex Royal statement, so they can't now say it was all a horrible surprise. They had been told no and their statement revealed that they weren't going to take it lying down. Indeed, they still aren't. I guess Harry just didn't believe that his security was at risk and thought that his enormous popularity at the time would ensure that the UK taxpayer would have no problem funding security wherever he and his family members were in the world - and whatever they were doing, forever.

Until King Charles and or Parliament removes those titles nothing will ever change. Harry and Megan will never stop complaining.

The thing of it is, Harry's position was pretty good. Harry and Meghan were going to be given a ton of work and responsibility because the Queen's cousins are in their 80s and late 70s, so they're very much ready to hand the baton to somebody else. In exchange for their work, they would have all the security they needed, a comfortable house with staff, visits to foreign countries, awesome galas where they would meet all sorts of world famous and important people, so in a word, a lovely life with actual purpose. Therefore, Harry's position that he was the "spare" and not important is false. In addition, his position that he didn't have money is also false. 18M pounds from Princess Diana plus about 17M pounds from the Queen Mother adds up to 35M pounds, which should be enough to live quite comfortably. But TBH, neither of them have the disposition, talent, or work ethics to do the job. It's a blessing they're gone.

Seems to me Meghan had abused money allocated to her wardrobe, too.

Harry got so used to being one of the most popular Royals over the years, even with his moments of bad/distasteful behaviour(well done to the Palace for sugar coating it the way they did!).....i think he genuinely thought he could take that with him and still be loved no matter what. But what used to be looked at as a boy who lost his mum growing up making mistakes.... Well he's not a boy and he's now viewed as a very spoilt, self centered, venomous, uncaring man, willing to go out of his way to bring down and stab the very people who loved and cared for him in the back without a second thought!! As long as he makes a cheap buck!! There's no recovery from that with the public....he may one day be able to get a relationship back with his family(not deserved at all!!), but I hope the Royal family realise that any public roll for him will never ever be on the cards and that the trash that is Meghan needs to be divorced ASAP!!
