I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed this book (and Blackwood Farm). They’re some of my favorites of the Vampire Chronicles and I never understood the hate for them. I particularly loved the last three Prince Lestat books. My only issue with them is I tired of the Rhosh storyline veeery quickly. By the last book I was like, You’re still with that??? Haha. But other that that I loved them. It’s tragic that we’re never getting another Anne Rice book. RIP, Queen. - Also, I love your face. You are such an incredibly beautiful man. I always look forward to your videos.
Yeah I think Blackwood Farm may be in my top five of the books, or close to it. As for the Rhosh storyline, I do like it, though I wish it had been Armand against Lestat instead as I say. More impactful that way. And thank you, I'm flattered. :)
Hey man just found your channel. I think your videos are great and honestly what this platform lacks of. Hope your channel grows but keeps the same quality.
Would you consider doing reaction videos for the new series on AMC? Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix. Nice review. I rather enjoyed this book. Anne was so talented in describing the world and her take on Atlantis was brilliant. I agree Armand would have been good in that role. It would have made it more personal to Lestat and to us. RIP Maharet. That one hurt. I think you make a lot of good points. I wish we could have got more but to have this final trilogy is such a gift.
The second season of this series is an absolute masterpiece. I was blown away at every turn. And mind you I was fully prepared to hate it because of all the deviations from the books. Ha. I can’t wait for the next season.
I did watch the first episode or two of the show and I did like it. For some reason though I didn't watch more than that. I think at the time it was just other things were more important, and then I saw bits of the Mayfair Witches and was so mortified by the destruction of the story that it left a sore taste in my mouth wanting to associate myself with any AMC Rice adaptation. I should watch it (Vampire, not Witches!) really, and maybe share my thoughts at some point too.
@@JoshuaJClarkeKelsall Yes watch the Vampires! The 2 shows have completely different writing teams. The witch show is terrible and the vampire show is a work of art.
@JoshuaJClarkeKelsall I struggled with the Mayfair as well. Never even finished the season. I will at some point. IVWTV is a perfect adaptation in my eyes. The changes keep the show fresh and unpredictable. The acting is flawless. It has me really excited. The tone and soul of the series is there 100%
Funny that pretty much all of your criticisms of this one were reasons why I ultimately didn't like the book, but I have to admit it wasn't as bad as Prince Lestat. I think if Anne had followed your suggestion I might have liked it a lot more. Looking forward to the final review in this series.
@@JoshuaJClarkeKelsall Don't know if you're looking for new suggestions, but have you read the Matthew Corbett series by Robert McCammon? Historical mystery/adventure with a whiff of the supernatural.
If Anne had kept Quinn and Mona, i liked them and Blackwood Farm also, Rowan could have been one of Fareed's researchers. I wonder if as Anne grew older, much of those last books had to do with her wanting to tie up loose ends. Another thing about Anne is that she didn't like her books to be edited very much or at all. I wonder how much better they might have been if she had allowed better editing.
