I am a hard core Prince fan and love Amy to bits. Didn't think a recording of this existed so thankful it dose. Amy's voice was a rare gem gone too soon😢
Prince played with a lot of girls in the industry who’s mans couldn’t get right. Blake decided to embarrass Amy during this show actually by sneaking into Prince’s dressing room and stealing his stuff then having Prince look a fool for sending his security on the wrong person. So I wish Amy decided to let Prince care for her, he called Amy for that reason.
I get sad when I listen to this because Amy had so much more to give but the evils of the world took hold of her. She has such raw talent when it comes to songwriting and her voice and style is unmatched. Her and Prince did this song and made magic. And Prince just makes my eyes water in memory of Amy with his solos.
I was just sitting here listening to Prince videos on RU-vid autoplay and bawling when THIS video comes on!! Amy is one of my other favorites! She always makes me cry too because her life was so sad in the end. Just when I thought I had heard every Amy Winehouse song and video there ever was! I wish I could find video of this - that would be awesome.
I loved Amy from the first time I caught her tone and her vibe. A pure, music-loving spirit. An old rocker, I could care less if it sounded rather old school. Prince was what the industry wanted and he delivered in spades. It's tough to make it, but he surpassed all the hurdles and left a legacy of excellence. So happy they touched each other's souls and shared their union with us all.
OH MY GOD!!! How did we not achieve world piece when this happened? Two one of a kind artist combining their amazing talents to perfect something that was already perfect!
i know, and both apparently tragically... life is hard for everyone, especially those of us that are broken inside... no matter how beautiful you are... no matter how tallented you are... life is difficult...
@@dominicryan1346 it was the normal situation you got at Prince shows - anyone spotted with a camera or any sort of recording device was grabbed by his security and rapidly escorted from the venue. It’s obviously his right to do so, but since there was rarely any authorised filming of his shows going on, either, it means many great moments exist only as memories (and maybe board recordings). Which is sad.
This song is so touching and beautiful with those changing chords. It's so sad that both of these great artists have died at a young age. Living in the fast lane has certainly shorten their lifespan. RIP, beautiful artists!
Prince wasn’t in the fast lane. His religion prevented him from getting surgery. The drugs were pain killers he was prescribed and it was not recreational use. Wasn’t a drinker either. I think 50? years old when he died. Amy was an alcoholic- aware of her addictions. Both sad to be gone…
I know that Amy and Prince are in another dimension singing better than ever with a better intention to want to live. Thank you both for visiting us. Every time I hear her sing I can hear the pain. Wow what a gift.
I heard a live performance on youtube just now of Amy singing this song and I thought as a huge Prince fan that I couldn't imagine he would let her walk by. So I searched Prince and Amy and yep there it is.... And what a coincidence, same song.... Love is a losing game! Love isn't a losing game with God, R.I.P. Prince and Amy.
Five Years since Amy is gone.. I cannot imagine ........that we too have lost Prince 3 months ago This is perfect for today ..............his guitar is just so splendid........
too bad she died so young demons or drugs kill... RIP Amy ...Prince solo is fantastic Amy voice is what made her a superstar... made for classic jazz. We tend to appreciate talent after is gone for ever and Amy's was classic ...probably she lived the wrong era..imagine what impact she could do if was in the 80's her peak stardome..magic
Greg Fan she died from alcohol poisoning, she was clean from drugs for a couple years beforehand xxx sorry about but a lot of people get that wrong and yeah 😂
I love how Prince rehearsed his band in a total rearrangement of this hit song at v short notice for an aftershow in London in 2007 the year Amy died. Prince realised she was beyond saving here. So sad but so beautiful finding gorgeous guitar notes and chord progressions that should always have been there. His guitar solo is imperius and expressive, but communicates respect, care, and sad regret for where Amy was at. Very moving, no wonder Prince had tears.

Thank you for sharing. :) I was there that night: 22nd September 2007 Aftershow (about 2:30am) at the Indigo2, London. I will never forget that night, it was the first and last time I ever saw Amy Winehouse perform live. The performance started while the curtains were still down and you can hear the moment in this recording when the curtains were drawn and the audience goes crazy to find the actual real Amy Winehouse singing in the middle of the stage. Prince joins her moments later from backstage even though he's already playing his guitar. It was the best possible ending for the 21 nights in London final aftershow. I had hoped for further collaboration, such a shame.
+chidsta I was there too, and it happend exactly as you described. I remeber Amy wearing a yellow dress and appearing sooo fragile.. One of my best Prince concerts ever
I miss her. She sang some songs that mean the world to me. I carry her lyrics with me in my heart and soul, she was a wonderful person. A real person, I think. Didn't know her of couse, but one can tell by listening, watching, trying to understand. She is in a wonderful place right now and with her music still down here. Merry meet one moment.
+Jonathan K. SO glad Prince called up Amy to do this. I mean I would've liked something better, but just the fact this happened is like, perfect. I saw the interview where the interviewer informed her Prince had asked her to perform, and she looked so happy and excited, and she rarely ever looked that way.
+Tony Martin Drugs? That's your excuse? Most talented artists do drugs... why do women have a double standard? If you actually look passed her personal life and look at her work, she was a music genius. Her music lyrics and live voice performances were amazing.

This is such a beautiful song. think it was a nice thing that Prince did to play back up for her on this awesome piece after her death, to honor her wonderful talent as a musician, song writer, lyricist, and singer. I think it shows very high respect for her, from him.. This is something that only a musician friend could do. I love it , Great music!

Amazing! Two musical geniuses playing together, love this song, love Prince, love Amy. You left us too soon, the world isn't the same without you both. On a side note it's too bad the drummer doesn't know when to quiet down a bit, just keeps hitting the drums exactly the same through the entire song lol
This is the best thing I've ever seen/heard. I was devasted that I thought these two brillant artist would never get to record/perform together. It brings tears to my eyes/heart to know that they did get to perform together. And as I thought it would be PURE Genuis!!!!
+Jacqueline Fortune I know, I was amazed and devasted how much Princes death broke me.. it took me a few days to realize why, he was my youth. He was Minnesota, he was PURPLE! and we all love him, here in MN and other parts of the world. If it turns out it was pain killers, there needs to be more education about how these medications affect people. They don't effect me at all. so the shade being thrown all over the place really makes me sad.
+Sue T. I feel exactly the same. He was your youth and all your memories and in one way or another attached to Prince. I feel so sad that he did want to conquer this painkiller addiction if reports are true and it just wasn't to be. The world definitely has lost something magical and unique :'( xx

I think, I don't even know what I think...I feel so bad that when pain gets so bad, from physical injuries, that drugs overtake things. I don't know if this happened with him. I think we can all take a lesson, about being who we are, standing for truth and goodness. I know we can! center on the POSITIVE. we all have grey days. peace (will you be surprised I am a conservative?) :)
+Sue T. I'm wondering when the autopsy reports will be out. Very sad situation and I'm guessing he did just overdose on too many or maybe liver damage, in any case it is tragic. Such a loss :(
