Got too remember not just what MJ did for dancing.. he basically created the proper music video with thriller! Back then that was revolutionary! It was like a movie with an incredible dance routine, in the middle of one of the most amazing songs. I think use forgot thriller literilly was the first proper music video

Prince was our Mozart, he mastered over 14 instruments by age 17, he could dance, sing any note, rap, he wrote, arranged, performed ALL his music, including wrote hits for other artists, he has covered almost every genre, Metal, Punk rock, hip hop, pop, r&b, soul, jazz, blues, country, ambience, meditation, classical, techno, house, disco, instrumental. The Multi-Genre God. He could play anything, and your favorite artists have been deeply influenced by him. Corey Taylor, Whitney Houston, Steve Vai, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Lil uzi vert, H.E.R. , Paul Mccartney, all worship Prince to just name a few. Prince recorded his first 2 albums at 16 all by himself, all instruments, lyrics, arrangement, composition & vocals were all by him. He was such a prodigy, that music executives wanted proof, they would fly across country just to see if he could really play all instruments, because it was so unheard of. Prince has over 50 official released albums and when he passed, they found over 10 thousand unreleased Prince music in his vault. He then came into the business and was the FIRST to fight for artists rights, and he WON. He would write "slave" on his cheek and go to meetings protesting against the industry. Prince was also one of the first artists to sell his music direct to internet. You are talking about the most talented artist we will ever see.
What a couple, You two crack me up, and I can't wait for next week's pod......Elton is deffinitely up there. Keep making eachother laugh and making us laugh aswell ❤
Music icons, I agree with Pete MJ is the most iconic superstar no one can touch him. He was on a while other level. But I mostly agreed with all your choices Whitney, Oasis, Dionne Warwick, Lionel Richie, Madonna, Rolling stones, queen and too many more to mention. Did you mention Stevie Wonder?? Love him too. They definitely don't make them like.they used too. But I do love Miley Cyrus too, she has a wicked voice and isn't afraid to be herself. X
What I liked best about this week's episode was seeing both Abbey and Pete gradually forgetting they weren't actually talking. Ross very much helped with this I thought. What I didn't like so much that no mention was made of The La's. Other than that, fantastic as ever. Brilliant 💙
I'm a 58 year old woman who's only just got into podcasts. Yours is absolutely hilarious, brilliant and insightful. I went to senior school in Southport and I love the scouse humour. It's really difficult to find the proverbial "music Icon" as there are so many genre's of music. Bob Marley, Paul Weller, Luther Vandross, Sade, Michael McDonald, Lionel Ritchie, Barbra Streisand the list is endless........ 🎵🎶
@@nizviz I totally agree about music being mood related. I also think it depends on your upbringing and if your parents were into music. It's a personal choice that what one man thinks is poison is another mans treasure. There are so many icons and it is what you feel at the time that can influence your choices. I completely forgot about Bon Jovi, Meatloaf, Toto who all deserve icon status.
Eminem, Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, Black Sabbath or Led Zep, Adele, Jimmy Hendrix, Carlos Santana, The Kooks, James Brown, Hall & Oates, Fleetwood Mac! That’s all I have off the top of my head! All icons not assed.
Love it! As for icons, it has to be Elton John every time! The man saved my life, as it was whilst I was at his concert I realised I needed help with my eating disorder and went to hospital the next day! Absolute hero of mine! Xxx
I just have to say when Abbie was talking about Richard Ashcroft I was like oh yeah she knows what is what the guy has the best voice from the last 20 years in my opinion absolute legend he is. Watched every therapy crouch since it started keep the content coming you creators
I’m convinced every single couple on the planet has those heated rows but 99% aren’t honest about it bc they want ppl think they’re perfect. I can tell bc when I’m transparent with ppl about my relationship they’re in shock that I would tell them. I don’t understand it’s so therapeutic to talk about all the shit. Kudos to you both
Brilliant as usual, love that you show when you are pissed off with each other. Abi, I was the same when my son went abroad , I thought I was fine but all the time he was away I was terrible, so I think you’re allowed to be off this week. 😅 Icons for me George Michael all the way, obviously elvis , buddy holly, Kylie, cold play, Bon jovi, the list is endless really. Oh and Abi you look stunning this week 😊.
Just to carry on from Ross's info about Abba releasing tunes in Spanish. I once learned a couple of Beatles tracks they brought out in German when I was a teenager in the 90's. They're from a couple of albums released of b sides and whatnot. Got 'Rain' on too, which is a tune. Anybody bothering to read this should check them out. Ones black the other is white. Pastmasters or something like that 💙
Pink and Amy Winehouse Calvin Harris are some of my faves they may be classed as more modern day icons and I think a lot of people would say Rhiana and Beyoncé are but I’m not massive fans of those nowadays! A random 90’s one is savage garden I’ve just started listening to there album again it’s fab also for the 90’s was spice girls, take that then Robbie Williams on his own, I’m a massive trance/dance/EDM fan so love fatboy Slim, faithless, tiesto, Armen van burren, and so many other belting dance tunes from 90’s/2000’s that get raves/festivals going even to this day but I suppose there more iconic songs than people
Only purchase things you can afford twice. If his bird wants something and if he can afford it again then sound if he can’t then he needs to say “listen love I am not from your life but we love eachother and we need to meet in the middle be nice if you put your hand in your pocket instead of me sometimes”
Quick mention to the Tricolore French text books at school. If there are any existing books out there not with drawings of nobs in them, well, I'd be surprised. Gives me another idea. Do a 'schools' theme episode. Loads of material. The dinner. The teachers. The camaraderie. Good Times 💙
I agree with Pete, Michael Jackson has gotta be up there. And I'm glad he said Oasis, they were the sound of my childhood. You was either Oasis or Blur, there was no in-between 😂😂
Why I think Abbey Clancy is really ace. Slightly insecure, but gives a genuine positive vibe. Not a fake one you can see straight through She's proper maternal. It's very obvious. She takes no shit. She's bang on with the humour. Loyal to Peter. Great clothes. Just all round sound woman 💙 *edited - Incredible dancer. When I say Incredible I mean genuinely beautiful and her performances genuinely made me cry on the dancing programme. Let's never forget how great that final was. Big up to Aliasz too 💙
Led zeppelin Sade class acts I went to see Roisin Murphy the other week see was class In July I’m going to Roisin again with Grace jones she’s a icon ❤️✌️
No way of saying this without sounding like a perv i completely understand that. But abbi ur legs look fucking incredible! I normally listen on spotify and feel like ive been robbed of the pins i had no idea lol
To not be aware of Patsy Cline? Well, that's Crazy. I'm sorry. Honestly. Not only have I let myself down, but I feel I've let you down too. Back stronger 💪
Queen Freddie mercury has the best voice ever and he has thousands people in the palm of his hand at gigs. Fleetwood Mac is also a go too along with meat loaf
Hate to burst your mates bubble but Michael Jackson didn't create the moonwalk, it was first performed by Adalberto Ramirez "Resortes" in Mexico 1950, 5 years before Bill Bailly and 33 years before Michael Jackson performed it. Michael Jackson's music was so much better when he was younger, Off the wall era.
Pete 36 years married this year because I can't cook either 😂 I've learnt just say Yes babe sorry... as much as it hurts. Happy wife Happy life for 5 minutes.
If you do not include David Bowie, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Bob Marley, Paul Weller, Alanis Morrissette, Sting or Jimi Hendrix in an icon discussion, you have lost the plot! 😀
Abbey I totally understand what you meant about feeling Humiliated by Pete in public. I could see the pain in your face. I think its The Scouser in you. Us Scouse Wives Love and Protect Our Loved Ones and its Awful when We dont feel we get the same in return. I do Love You 2 though and Hope Pete sees it from your point of view. I Agree with Pete and Ross about MJ, He is a Legend
Billie Elish You have to listen to I'll find my way home, Vangelis Bowie Queen has to be on the list Pink Flloyd Eagles Fleetwood Mac Amy Whinehouse Ella Fitzgerald
UB40 ALI CAMPBELL, SPECIALS, BAD MANNERS, MADNESS, THE SELECT0R, THE BEAT, THE PRETENDERS, STYLE C0UNCIL, HAPPY M0NDAYS, SEX PIST0LS, TEARS F0R FEARS, THE FARM,
