Mustafa was such a good leader. Sulayman was so jealous of him and Hurrem just took advantage. I feel so sorry for Mustafa.

Mustafa was truly the Lion of the Empire. He would have been a great sultan. Strong, brave, and wise.

Selim became a sultan because he was diplomatic and a very good intrigant as well as Hurrem, Mihrimah and Rustem. My be that's the only one way.... Open and sincere people barely survive in such a society. According to the film Selim was the most miserable, because in his later live nobody respected him.. And a heavy drinker... But this is a film.....not the real story...so we never know

Selim became sultan because he was the only şehzade with zero ambition or drive. He lacked the strength of Mustafa, the fire of Bayezid, and the bravery of both. Thus, he never threatened to overshadow Suleiman who was paranoid to a fault about such things.

I was kind of rooting for Mustafa to kill Suleman . if only . though tbh that scene where all the janissaries sent by the sultan to stop him joined him that was quite a badass scene.
