When was the last time you saw Harry fly a helicopter? In order to keep your license you have to do a certain amount of flying time. Harry never does that because he was the co pilot….a gunner.

@@jamielyallleathan. It is common knowledge all over that Harry is NOT a licensed pilot. He cannot fly any type of aircraft solo. He is no more than a perpetual student of flight. He must have a licensed pilot in the aircraft at all times if he wants to fly. I know this information because my husband is a flight instructor/ jet pilot for 50 years. 20,000+ flight hours over the course of his career so far. He has flown in the US as well as Europe. So yes @juanitamiller9529 is absolutely correct. My husband actually was training at a facility several years ago here in the US where Harry did some training while he was in the service. Harry’s reputation at that facility was dreadful. His instructors say he was “goofy, lazy and not serious about studying like he should have been. That’s the kind of “ hero” harry was and is.

They also gave that award to Tom Cruise for his role in Top Gun and another for the Star Trek Captain of the Enterprise.

​@@lesleylamy No he didn't. I had the same job in the AAC. He could, and was trained to, take over the controls and land the aircraft safely in case the pilot became incapacitated, but was never a fully certified pilot. He could not fly the aircraft alone or pilot it.

The government doesn't contribute a penny. It's a charitable cause funded by ordinary people. He has contributed his salary to the corps since joining. He flew out of Anglesey which had high sea cliffs, a large farming community & dangerous mountain trails. The weather was notoriously bad.
