As mentioned in this video, am I to understand that the emperor and empress are staying at 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻? Why are they not staying 𝗮𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗼𝗿, as do most monarchs on state visits to the U.K.?

This is a Japanese courtesy - not to impose in any way on the host. Besides, they were not staying at any old hotel - they were staying at Claridges!
