Can you handle long drives like this through winding roads, endless potholes and traffic? For me the final destination and greenery in some places makes up for it.
JB my sister and I are watching your video and I heard you say, you "don't like driving " JB that is like hearing Usain say he doesn't like running. 99% of your wonderful channel entails driving. You do so much of it. I always thought driving was a form of relaxation for you, well now I know. Well back to continuing our journey with you, we are doing in in parts. We are enjoying it by the way.😀
Halceon, I like your analogy. Always keep in mind the WHY behind the creation of these videos and you will understand why I drive even though I do not like driving... I am driven as a father: www.youtube.com/@JBsManCave/about
Michelle, nah, that is too much to compare me with Prime Video, I am embarrassingly no where near that. However, I am glad that these drives are loved by you ladies.
Hello JB. Yes, I now live in the UK and was last in Trinidad in 1987, and as you mentioned, I am one of your overseas viewers who have been away for decades. I see some things have changed and some things haven't - the roads are still terrible lol. Yeah, that old Bedford brought back memories, as well as the Datsun 280c parked on the roadside - relics from a Trinidad that I still know. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. 😃
Gavin, thank you kindly for commenting and letting me know you are watching as that is also very much appreciated. Please let others know about JB's Man Cave so this Community can grow.
Took this long trip with you all, Moruga was one of my dad places to take us as kids, there is Grand Chemin by the statue, La Lune and Marac the last village on the road you said you will be going next time,La Ruffin by the spring bridge it was scary crossing that bridge it would bounce and sway as you drove over,I also went with my friends (by bus) in our teenage years to the "Discovery Day Holiday" it was a very big event then... Respect to you for being a very supportive/awesome dad, live long and prosper🖖...lol its 2:47 am in NYC.
Jameel, thanks for sharing your experiences on this trip. Did you see the more specific videos of each area I stopped.. for instance these: Moruga Beach: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6_CfjbaJN0k.html Historic Suspension Bridge: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lJuEY419IaA.html Christopher Columbus Monument: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VbRhtJeSinc.html MORUGA Proper in Trinidad: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yez__vYNdCM.html
At long last JB man cave has posted a classic full length video with commentary, constructive criticisms and contemporary music and the first half was an absolute treat!! There is something about the Princes Town Moruga area that makes it easy to recognize, perhaps this is attributed to the buildings. JB we were very shocked to hear that you didn't enjoy driving?? One would think that you love it!! It makes us subscribers more grateful for the awesome trips that you take us on! I especially enjoyed the nature scenes as you drove by. It's also sweet to see all the colored houses. Cheers to the first half, my sister and I will be completing the second leg tomorrow. Thank you JB !😁
Michelle, thanks for being here, you guys are 'addicted' to the long runs which I understand why because of your explanation. However, I don't see you commenting on my shorter videos. Do you all have a watching policy of nothing under and hour? 🤣 As for why I drive... see: www.youtube.com/@JBsManCave/about to remember why I create these videos. This video is boss!! JB you finally passed in front of my families house!! The sun was setting and throwing some shade but we were still able to make it out!! I told my sister that the house could use some paint but we had more urgent matters to tend to recently and painting was not part of it. This is now on my top 5 favorite JB Man cave video!!👏🏽👏🏽 We enjoyed the ride thoroughly and we also noticed that you have a new mix which was nice also. Thank you for driving although you don't love it but for the love of your sons. We are grateful recipients.
Thanks for an enjoyable trip (vicariously). I loved the narration and the accompanying music. The scenery/greenery was awesome. Continue your good works in promoting Trinidad and Tobago. It is truly appreciated!
New to the channel and have only watched a couple early videos. Dramatic change in quality from the early videos! Here are some suggestions: In a highway driving video where the road is straight and long (often boring) Increasing the speed improves the experience. Here where the roads are narrow and winding, there are many more sights to see, slowing the speed somewhat would be nice.Although your commentary is enlightening. What would make this a TOTAL experience is (there maybe youtube rules or copyright issues) Listening to "Local Radio Stations" complete with announcement, news, weather, sports and music of the nation.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, my early footage was shaky and not as high a quality resolution as my more modern stuff. No radio / music - like you said, copyright issues. This may also give you more: www.jborde.com/frequently-asked-questions/
This was such a beautiful video to watch wish I was back there. At 15:45 in the video thats where 5th Company village begins, the building on the right is fifth company baptist elementary school and next to the sch is Mandingo road. I'm from Samuel cooper trace, fifth company. I miss that place.
p.s I love long drives! As children our dad would pile us all in his car and take us around to many different sites in Trinidad. We will never forget those moments and neither will your sons! Shout out to my sister Halcyon a couple comments down.😘

I first see that clay block in Trinidad only use to cement block in my part of the Caribbean with steel rod I whole like to have access to that clay to build fence are one level house it cost less
Love seeing the trip to Moruga! Lots of greenery. I believe you love doing the commentaries, 🤔. And a good job too! Why do you worry about why people ask "why you doing this". Stupid question. Tell them it's none of their business! 😜😜😜. Oops you were a seminarian ☺☺
Rhona, thank you kindly. I actually do not like doing commentaries, as I am generally conservative by nature. However, my fans keep insisting on hearing me rattle, hence I do it for them. I don't see the questions as stupid... asking questions is an intelligent thing. 😉
I am from jamaica...i visit trinidad quite frequently and i must say that the issues you speak of with regards to bad roads and lack of maintainance practices is the same in jamaica only way more compounded...and i think it comes down to three causes and these are 1 lack of funds 2 poor management skills and last but definitely not least...corruption.....
Well somewhat....Jamaica is quite mountainous in mostvparts so theres some degree of difference....also trinidad is quite green for the most part while jamaica is more varied with a lot of dry areas mixed with green areas....the roads in trinidad are way more well maintained also believe it or not.
Hi JB, thanks for your quick reply to my comment. No i did not see the videos on the home less people but I will look for them as I just started watching your channel last Saturday night.👍🏽🌞
Hi JB, yes your videos are relaxing to watch u showing all those beautiful places in Trinidad. Unfortunately I don’t like how the government is treating the homeless people on the streets. They should build homes for them to live in, especially when there is so much empty land there wasting.🙏👍🏽🙄
Yes, I have videos on that too. Have you seen them? Thanks for your thoughts on my road trips in Trinidad. See more here: jbsmancave.com/trinidad-and-tobago-road-trip-map/
Actually i am not thank google earth for that knowkedge...have only been to point fortin in the south and along the manza rio clara princes town stretch....will explore it all soon...
9:40 To answer your question as to what road you are on (Grant it, no one from the community agrees as to where the offical starting or ending points of the roads are. I' will, however, tell you what I know.) This junction is called Petit Cafe and the road your taking is called Indian Walk Road. which ends (unofficially) at around 15:16.. From here on to the beach it's Moruga Road. 18:33 On the right, on the hill is the secondary school I attended called Cowen Hamilton. Seeing it now after living abroad for decades, I can say the area has not changed. Another winner JB! Enjoyed it.
@@JBsManCave I saw some of the Princes Town video. I used to live there and it hasn't changed much...still very busy. Looking forward to seeing the others.
