Lady Diana Spencer was Aristocratic Her family seat goes back generations She is the English Rose Royal family have German blood Lady Diana was not a commoner Catherine Middleton is , even though her family are wealthy she's known as Kate even though she has a title of Duchess But William mother Lady Diana is more blue blood than the Royal family
It is sad Diana did not live to see either of her sons marry. it would have been sweet to she her and Charles watch their little boys walk down the aisle. I agree, Diana did have the best seat in the house.
Actually it was Diana who helped modernize the monarchy. Simply joining social media isn't completely modernizing the monarchy. Also, the question about having to make an appointment to see the Queen, well of course you do but Harry had to be diplomatic about it. So if we are praising the Queen's ability to move with the times, how about not having her immediate family make appointments to see her? Do you have to kiss up to her to have some priority like Sophie, Countess of Wessex does? And as usual people bring up Diana for some sympathy, how about giving her the HRH title back and respecting her wishes to be buried next to her father not in an island near a lake like it was some ritualistic burial smh.
brilliant interview,,,but then you look at the comments. warning to anyone who watches this. If you want to leave this video with your IQ still in tact please do not read the comments below
Actually her family were working class- her mother grew up in a council flat and the families now current fortune is from her mother starting her own business and basically working her socks off. While not common in the sense of being a chav, Kate's mother is a prime example of a working class woman climbing up the finance ladder.
I think the queen didn't have a choice then to move with the "times". princess diana made them take a look at being down to earth, instead of living in the dark ages.
Diana would be so proud of her boys (well, proud of Harry when he keeps his clothes on, but whatever...). By the time I was their age all my grandparents were dead so it must be nice to be able to have them around.
I don't think you are understanding the term properly. She was a commoner in the sense that she didn't have a title. No one was saying she didn't come from a well-off family. The usage of the term is correct.
''Taking the mickey too much'' LOL Prince William and Harry do make me laugh, they both seem really down to earth! I hope Prince Charles stands down and let Prince William become King.
Why should i show THEM respect if they aren't going to give me choice over what i fund? Are they better than me? i give to charity also. If they are so great then obviously they dont need to force people to fund them because we would be glad to fund them.
personaly i dont hate the queen of her family...i just dont like the fact that they make my country spend money for them when we feel they dont do much for us...thats why most canadians dont like them...but i agree with you if you hate something just dont look for it...
Totally agree. Some people come on here to do nothing but slag them off for no good reason. They bring in thousands of pounds to this country and work bloody hard, though anti-royals would say different of course. I'm a royalist and proud of it
I never got asked if i wanted to pay to support the queen, i am forced to pay without choice..... therefor i do not care for the queen or royalty until they show me some respect as a human being and give me choice.
i think its a huge deal becuz as far as i know this is the first time a direct heir to the thrown married a "commoner". its the first time in Great Britain that the future queen, and wife to the future king comes from a "commoner" family. usually the 2 heads of the royal family are both pure blooded royals themselves. thats why Charles had to marry Diana even though he didn't love her. Diana was in fact even more royal pure blooded than the queen herself.
The british royalty is something of a time-bomb. Whenever one of the princes takes the throne, there is a very viable chance that the global corruption will be over-turned.
Why does William say that QE2 was a woman in a man's world and no one thought she could do it? Elizabeth I and Victoria did pretty good jobs. There were precidents for strong, effective female British rulers.
Britain is not competing due to the fact a lot of people are to busy shouting pity me all the time and don`t realize how difficult life is outside of GB, the nanny state culture has kicked in, I find in Britain if a top academic is highly paid the people revolt against them, hence the brain drain to the USA where they love winners. The Queen has been a superb ambassador for GB and the commonwealth and if there was a vote tomorrow I think you would find the monarchy would stay, no science there.
Its not the first time royalty have married outside aristocracy. David Starkey did a whole documentary about it. Its not a huge deal as people make out. Semantics aside (I am well aware of what it means) the media do keep putting a spin on things as if she is somehow one of us. She's still public school educated etc, born into wealth. No title but still might as well have one.
Diana certainly wasn't prim and proper. 9 extra marital affairs and wrecked the marriages of Will Carling and Oliver Hoare. Doesn't sound prim and proper to me.
Just a question, can Prince Harry marry an Asian girl, Black-African girl or Middle Eastern girl as long as they are Christians?? I'm not sure, hence the reason I'm asking. Please let me know if it's allowed in the monarchy because I've noticed they have only married white women (No racism intended, I'm white)
well, queen charlotte, who was married to george iii was biracial, so if it didn't matter over 200 years ago............ i can't imagine it mattering now.
She wasn't biracial. She possibly had some distant north African ancestry via the 14th century Portuguese Royal Family. Her ancestry from the late 14th century until her birth was northern European.
