@@anso5961someone tried to kidnap her in her car with her husband at gunpoint and she said something along the lines of "not bloody likely!" which bought her enough time for her guards to take down and arrest the guy! i think the incident would have really suited the anne that is portrayed in the crown

@@anso5961 There was a man with a gun and he shot her police guard (his gun jammed), her chauffeur (who tried to disarm him afterwards) a journalist (who was nearby and had tried to intervene after the other two were shot), and then approached Anne in the car. He told her he was kidnapping her and would ransom her for 3 million, and tried to order her out of the car. She said "Not bloody likely!" and managed to climb out through the other side. A passerby (who happened to be a former boxer) punched the man and helped get Anne away. Another policeman was then shot, but he'd already called for backup and another lone officer (without a gun) managed to apprehend him. All of the people shot survived and recovered and they were all awarded medals by the Queen for bravery. The man who punched the kidnapper also had his entire mortgage paid off by the Queen as thanks. Princess Anne gave an interview about it on Parkinson in the 80s, I think you can find it on RU-vid!

But Anne always loved to be low profile, so I guess it's fine for her.

yeah I go to a summer school hosted at the boarding school that Princess Anne attended when she went to school and she is completely loyal to it. She visits regularly to do talks and came to open their new science building, it's all over the displays at the school

I'll bet Princess Anne could have been a whole lot more popular in the media, she was an accomplished equestrian & beautiful when she smiled and lets face it, we all look better with Make Up. But, that's just not who she was. When she was younger she didn't care about the media because they were all over her. I'm sure, later in life, when they abandoned her and focused on Diana, Anne may have missed it. Happens to all of us. We often don't know what we really what until we lose it! That's just natural!

I can imagine the queen explaining the inappropriateness of Margaret's behavior when the two of them are alone. I completely lost interest in the the show after the 2nd season. TOO MANY LIES presented as truths! It got boring! It's a shame! The family is interesting enough to not need their history twisted, inflated or invented. *TOO BAD THE WRITERS ARE NOT BRAVER!* IMHO, the they're either too lazy or unable to create anything interesting without relying on the Royals as a crutch! Too bad!

@@CrazyWatcher670 and been boring - no offence - her wedding was the most ordinary of the royals and most of her work though good and important - was / is ordinary good old work - The Crown is a drama so going to meetings - cutting ribbons - planting trees - shacking hands - meeting people just isn’t dramatic - how do you show the impact of all her work in a couple minutes segments - it is like most of our lives ordinary so not included in a television drama likeThe Crown which has to keep its viewers entertained 🤔

I honestly think Erin would be a Brilliant Choice for a Future incarnation of The Doctor in Doctor Who (If there are any Doctor Who Fans on here! haha!) Such a Fantastic Actress!

To be honest. The crown did imply that the Queen did not want Charles to be king. There are two possibilities: one the Queen outliving Charles but she may not live as king now that Phillip has passed away. Or she will just give the crown to William.

At those times, a son always takes precedence over all his sisters so even if Anne was born first, her chances would’ve been by younger brothers that might follow. So really, her only chances to be Queen are being the only child (very unlikely) or the eldest of daughters

People like Beautiful princess with Romance and tragedy Rather than common looking hade strong, dutiful princess who keeps her privet life privet. that's why people were more interested in princess margreat and princess daina than princess anne. Moreover Daina was future queen and mother of future king and Anne was just princess.

Actually, she was wife of the future king and there was this drama, that's why she was famous. No one cares about the rest of the family.

Princess Anne though stated that she did not want her children to have royal titles as she wanted them to have freedom with their lives.

I don't think they are ordinary citizens like you and me. They still live off Anne's estates and don't have to worry about money
