I sure do wish that I was much younger and able to do these excursions! Don't ever put your lives on auto pilot and miss these kinds of opportunities!! Thanks for taking us along for the cruise
I'm so happy the captain woke you up. The northern lights are so magical. I've yet to see them on a cruise but we have been lucky enough to see them here in Ireland a few times. I think because of media we are aware of them now.
I live in Alaska and am a northern lights photographer (as you can probably tell from my profile pic) and I always get excited seeing others get excited about aurora. I'm so happy you saw them! They are magical indeed
Due to some solar flares, the Northern Lights were seen in Bristol TN. My grandson put up his drone. And MAN what incredible shots he got. I think it’s awesome that the Captain woke you up to be able to see them!!!!!
Wow! You’re day was fantastic! That was awesome of the captain to wake you for the great light show! Cool that they allowed you in Rudy’s for breakfast we had a mini suite on Enchanted Princess and they told us no only suites and up. Great content!!
You must have been on the same cruise I was on. That was September 16 well after midnight it was the 17th. We didn't go up we waited on them to come over to the port side and we were not disappointed. It was pretty cool. We got some awesome pictures.
We were woken out of bed at 2 am by the captain on Discovery in May also for northern lights! It was amazing! The cruise to Alaska on Discovery is just an amazing experience all around!!!
We just had the northern lights actually visible here in North Alabama a few days ago, but unfortunately we had too much light in our neighborhood for us to see them. They were also visible here in a May. Many people near us posted photos and it was incredible what they could see, they were red, blue and green, so beautiful. I hope if they are ever visible here again that I can get to see them!
I love Alaska. Duck Farts are so good. I taught a bartender at a restaurant here near my house how to make them. Lol. The restaurant owner liked it also. So much so that he bought everyone at the bar a round. There is so much to do and see there, it's absolutely beautiful. Glad you got to see the northern lights.
Hello, you 3 😊 I live in Norway, in the port Trondheim, in the middle part of Norway, and even if I don't live in the northern part, I can usually see Northern Lights several times during the darkest, coldest time of year. Lots of love from a solo cruiser from 🇧🇻 going with the Celebrity Beyond to the Panama Canal and Southern Caribbean in just a few weeks 🌴😎
Oh yes on binoculars. Found a pair on Amazon. Had a tripod and your phone attached to the eye piece so you could snapshot what you thru binoculars. Love you guys. Thanks for sharing!!!
My hubs and I did the Walk Up Shots @ the Red Dog! So good and very short (compared to inside) line! Love that Noa and GiGi had some time to explore the port too! The Northern Lights are on our bucket list so we will be doing another trip later in the season next time. Griff, you are correct...what a gift to have these experiences documented for your family.
The northern lights are so wonderful. This has been an active sunspot year. They have been seen in Seattle area this year. So glad you had the opportunity to see them.
Not your normal itinerary to be woken up by the captain at 1am then rush up to the deck in your PJs to see the northern lights. Great experience for you all. Check that off your bucket list. What ship and what month is the best time to cruise to Alaska? I have adult kids, teenage kids and pre teen kids that will more than likely want to go.
An old tale for the northern lights is if you whistle they might dance for you. What really sucks is being deathly allergic to boney fish, I can't eat any without needing an epi-pen and a hospital.
I’m working on my husband right now trying to see if he’ll take me on an Alaskan cruise. He’s more of a tropical in the warmth type person seeing he was born and raised in England. Thank you, Griff and Alyssa
My wife and I are sailing out of cape canaveral on October 28th. We will be there Saturday October 26th if yall get a chance we would enjoy meeting you three.
I've seen the Northern lights several times but I have a bit of an advantage living in Canada :) But for our Alaska cruise we caught it once on the 2 cruise trips we did. We also were able to see them from Vancouver last Thursday which was 4 days ago? Things we take for granted living in the most beautiful place in Canada.
Noah is a beautiful child. She is a perfect combo of you both. I’m looking forward to taking my grandson cruising. I wasn’t sure about taking a young child but she seems to have a good time.
Hey guys. Look at Noa dancing after having her morning ☕️🍼😂. Will invest on binoculars for next time. Wonderful Noa with Gigi so you guys can enjoy the kayak excursion, shots and join you for the salmon bake. Oh no. 12:40? What’s happening? Oh yes for the northern lights , yes 🙌🏼. Appreciate that. I can’t see it on the video tho 😢. Well glad you guys experienced it.
I am going on Alaskan cruise next June so trying to see what is great excursions. We have been seeing the Northern Lights a lot in New York lately. Our phone on night mode picks up more colors. Enjoy your videos, glad I found them.
Oye, I’m a kayaker, sit in, but the closed in kayaks hit me with anxiety. The double Yaks are called divorce-makers! Not a fan, but I think I will have to conquer it all next August
This is a good year to see them since it is a year of solar storms. It happens every 10 years and can disrupt electricity on our planet. See The Carrington Event
Good luck with your videos and I tried it today however it is so basic and mostly cruisers watch these channels It would’ve been nice to actually do a tour and describe something other than just your family It was enjoyable watching there’s no content that would interest a long time cruiser Princess is my cruise line of choice and I am elite on the line, but I learned nothing from your video sorry
My sister was on Princess to Alaska in Sept and a dear friend entertains on princess and she was on a different Alaska trip also in Sept. I’m betting one of them was on with you. I’ve seen them twice this year here in Vancouver, and two times prior, very cool. Glad you guys got to see them. Even better if you look straight up through you phone’s camera
