I've watched this video several times. This will be our 3rd Alaska cruise but our first cruisetour. I feel like you really have helped me and my group get ready. Thank you, Arlynn!
Hi Arlynn, 4 years ago we went on Alaska cruise, and I had found you on you tube and I learned about all the travel tips from you and was able to share info with 2other couples. The info was perfect in making the cruise a great trip. Alaska is a must go trip, and your right it does call you back it’s just beautiful. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge about travel. I never wanted a backpack, but now I see how beneficial they are. I’m ordering a Vera bag today. ❤
You are a wonderfully knowledgable lady, the information you pass on is invaluable (and I am only flying 🤞from Germany to Channel Islands) anyone who does not benefit from your words or heed your advice must be a numpty. 💐💐
Just found you by chance so new subbie here. Love your presentation & attitude!! Thank you so much for all of the information. Do you have a video showing exactly what you took on the cruise vs the land portion just to get an ideal! Show examples of each outfit, etc. If not, please consider making an 2022 version! and lastly, your back-pack was your purse too? Again great video!
Hi The Posh Maniac, thank you so very much for all of your lovely words!! AND thank you for subscribing. :) I do not have a video of my exact wardrobe that I would pack for land and sea, but, I plan to do a Alaska Cruise Wardrobe video before our cruise in September (sooner rather than later). And then I normally to an "Outfit of the Day" video once on the ship. I'll tell you what though, I'm going to go ahead and link my "Outfit of the Day" video that I took during my last Alaska Cruise--what I wore on the ship is pretty much what I'd wear on land only I'd switch out the pretty sweaters for sweatshirts on land. It is v-e-r-y casual on land. :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vhKYXfM1YLA.html
Wow Arlynn! So much information! I always thought we would cruise until my knees legs and feet failed and put me in a walker or wheelchair. So afraid to take that step with all my complications. I will try looking into their handicap aid and service. My husband and I always dreamed of going cross country in an RV. Even that is scary to me now. 😕 thanks for always sharing with us. 🥰🙏🏻
My parents continued cruising well into their advanced years w/ decreasing mobility. Don't miss out when you really don't have to!! Check into what Princess can offer you Or use them as a potential planner to use the info to investigate your own supplies. Mom got a zippy light-weight wheel chair that was terrific. They had a blast all over the world. /remember Princess wants to help you so let them!! but you have to ask them first - they can't read your minds/wishes!!
Hi Karen, I might need to do a video on how I handled our last cruise girl. As you know, I've been struggling greatly with a bad knee, and my friend Barb let me borrow one of her scooters, it was a game changer for me!! It was so easy and there are numbers that you can call to have a company drop off a scooter or wheelchair or whatever you need. You could do it though, I promise, Princess is so helpful and I had an amazing cruise. We even purchased me a scooter that we will take with us on our Alaska cruise in September. I walk around my house fine, but, to do a cruise well that is an arduous task...again, that scooter was a game changer. :)
Thanks so much Arlynn for all the excellent info and for actually showing your pieces of luggage....thay may seem funny but I am such a visual person that reading the info about sizes is ok but when you actually show us and we see your suitcases (in part one as well)....that makes a world of difference to me...so thank you so much for that.....cruising to Alaska has always been on my bucket list and you are helping so much with all your explanations about so much that I feel much more at ease..... This may be a silly question but I was wondering if you can see the Northen lights? If so, can you see them every night while you are cruising and when doing land tours as well? Also, where is the best place to see them?.....That is one of many reasons for wanting to see Alaska, to see them in person......ahhhh...I'm sure nothing compares to the sweet sweet beauty of seeing them ❤️❤️......this is such a wonderful informational video Arlynn ( as was your part 1).....I so look forward to my dream coming true (God willing) within the next couple of years!...... the only thing better would be to actually be on the same trip as you and Chris. It would be a fun, sweet blessing for my husband and I to meet you both and chat a while, in such beautiful surroundings created by our Lord! Love your channel, no matter what the content, I always look forward to you posting a video! Big hug and God's precious blessings to you!😊❤️
You do know that the Northern lights are also occasionally visible in Northern Michigan; which may be a little more feasible for you. Perhaps a trial run road trip is in order? They are absolutely unbelievably beautiful and strange and wonderful! They are also highly unpredictable so keep that in mind too. Happy travels!
Hi Karen, in all of the Alaska cruises that we have done we have never seen the northern lights. It may be possible if we were going inland and further north later in the year or very very early in the year but, the Alaska cruising season runs from May through September and we have never been privileged enough to see them. I do hear they are gorgeous though!! Thank you so very much for all of your kind, supportive, and lovely words dear lady! ❤️
Hi Arlynn! It’s Laurie. I’ve always wanted to take a cruise but I married a guy who gets motion sickness. I would think with the size of those cruise ships that the motion would be minimal. Do you feel the waves rocking the ship?
Hi Laurie, well, there is always the chance for rocky seas and I've been in some very rocky seas. Even though the big cruise ships have stabilizers, you can still feel the motion a bit (sometimes worse than other times).
@@ArlynnsCountryCraftCorner Bummer. Oh well, I’ll cruise vicariously through you.😂. I have been to Alaska. It is beautiful! We spent 5 days in Denali and 2 days in Fairbanks.
Hi! I've taken multiple cruises & not had any issues. The only time I felt any motion was crossing the Atlantic in October w/ an unusual horrible storm for 2 days. I loved it but many people were much less comfortable sadly. My sister is very sensitive to motion illness; has had great success w/ the scopolamine ear patches, wearing her acu-pressure sea=bands constantly & having ginger(real) chews available when needed. She had a fantastic time & did not suffer once. Try a trial run w/ the patches on land to see how he reacts. Bon Voyage!
For me it is all about the Itinerary and if there is one of the smaller (relatively speaking) Grand, Crown, Ruby, or Sapphire doing my preferred, I will choose one of those ships over a Royal Class ship--personal preference.
