Charles found her a therapist as soon as he discovered there was a problem, which was during their honeymoon. Unfortunately Diana refused to cooperate. Only much later, when a friend threatened to go public with her disease, she decided to get professional help.

Eating disorders are mental illnesses and it’s root is in a lack of love in the childhood or in relationships, low self-esteem as well

@@iceprincess3981 Diana's Illness is called Bulimia, is caused by stress and Anxiety, and that's what she had, after she found out about her Husband Charles and his Mistress Camilla, they Broke her heart.

I know all about bulimia, I have a recovered bulimic in my family and have been through periods of bulimia myself. And one thing is for sure. This disorder doesn't develop overnight, it has a long history. In many cases, the patient is not even aware of the root of the problem. It takes psychotherapy to work it out and find a way to heal. Diana herself said that her bulimia started the week after her engagement. Her marital problems may have been a contributing factor , but they were certainly not the cause of her illness. Don’t forget that her sister also suffered from a severe eating disorder and Diana was prone to binge eating even as a schoolgirl. Her problems definitely stemmed from her unhappy childhood. It is unfair to put all the blame for everything that went wrong in Diana's life on Charles. She may have been young, but she was still a grown woman and responsible for her own mental health.
