The Daily Mirror Royal Editor Russell Myers discusses the “beautiful photo” taken by the Princess of Wales to celebrate Prince William’s 42nd birthday.
Princess Kate shared a new family photo to social media with a birthday message reading “Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much!”
“It’s been a tumultuous time for the family, hasn’t it, with Kate’s cancer diagnosis, but the family very, very united in this picture and beyond,” Mr Myers said.

This is a beautiful photo. It looks like a fun family day, and I’m so glad Catherine was taking photos to preserve the day. And I am very happy that she takes most of photos rather than using a photographer. The children don’t need a childhood of posing for photos, they already are photographed when they are at events. They are allowing them fun and moral family time rather than bring in a stranger to spend the afternoon for pictures. This was she can capture memories, share a few with the public when needed, and still keep their private family times private. The children are blessed, they are giving them the most normal childhood possible within the constraints of royal life of two future kings.

Thank you for explaining why Catherine + William don't just "bring in a professional photographer to take photos of the children" in order to satisfy those ghouls who think they have a right to "see the children" on demand. The children are seen at occasional official events during the year + when their parents choose to release a candid photo. THE PARENTS CHOICE. As has now been proven, the absence of such photos does not mean THERE iIS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CHILDREN.
