For me, the most stunning pieces is the sapphire and diamond parure with the tiara, necklace and earings. It was hard to choose because it is a stunning collection in all.
Many new pieces for me ..since the jewellery main line of royals have the most popular ones .. These are quite exquisite..more elegant than many of the opulent? Ostentatious? Than the regular ones .. And good use of pearls
Princess Marina’s necklaces of large diamonds were my favorite but they were not mentioned. I’m guessing that they were sold after her husband’s death?
Thank you, Andrew, for sharing this amazing Princess Marina jewellery collection. She was a lucky princess owning exquisite collection shown in the video. Lucky to her heirs as well. Stay well as always.
I like the festoon tiara, the bow brooch and the diamond circle earrings. Setting aside the occasion on which it appeared recently, I think the Queen Mary bandeau is a gorgeous piece utterly spoiled by a big, jarring, boring, ill-fitted, glaringly detachable brooch plonked in its centre. There isn't even any stylistic similarity between the brooch and the bandeau proper. That brooch truly needs to be replaced by something more harmonious, but then again I don't think there will be much demand for that tiara in the next several decades.
I believe Queen Mary would swap out the center brooch with a sapphire brooch. The issue with the tiara is that it mixes two stylistic design eras. Otherwise it is a major sparkler if that is the effect one was going for.
Princess Marina had an amazing jewelry collection to say the least! Her son shouldn't have sold his mother's sapphire tiara and diamond earrings in 1990. They should've stayed in the family as historic heirlooms.
