August 26th, 2024. the Governor of NJ announces a transit fare holiday for all customers from August 26th through September 2nd, 2024. During the Fare holiday, the Northeast Corridor was also treated to multiple visitors from Amtrak:
Amtrak MOW move - GP38H-3 ( #523 & #721 ), GP15 #579
Amtrak Catenary Maintenance A16502 (4 times)
ACS-64 642 on a double ended Northeast Regional (2 times)
Lastly, Amtrak's new Acela [Avelia Liberty] #2102 / #2103 makes its appearance testing down the Northeast Corridor from Philadelphia, PA - Boston, MA
