Orientation week is very high energy and at times overwhelming, but ultimately it helps students assimilate into this new environment. Coming from a public school, there are moments of culture shock, but excellent communities on campus to help you find your people!
@@madelinemaedmedia3685 Good for you. Like you, coming from humble public, I remember my first shock when I first met my classmates-to-be in the Old Campus: so white, blond, J-crew and terse. "Hi, so where are you from?" I asked. "Grot." "Chot." "Phil." "Exit." "That." "Cat." Then I heard multi-syllables that sounded like "Bond... James... Bond" if you ask me. "Field... Deer... Field." "Wow, how lovely! So you guys actually study with deers on your campus?" I quickly realized I lost my chance to get to know her for the next 4 years.
