How would an arch behave if there are 1-2 mini arch was incorporated in the design. In one version the mini arches are spaced out on the top of the arch and the other version the mini arches are inverted and are "inside the arch"

Hello there, I was trying to mimic the horseshoe arch in a smaller version but I wasn't able to figure out about the springing line and span, I mean does it has to be at a specific distance or what. Btw you explained everything so well, appreciating your efforts.

Iranian old houses using arch roof with 3 store houses with mud stones. That is stunning architecture. In all over the Europe castle are like arch , in middle asia many places common houses are used this technology that is really amazing . 😊❤

How did they mark out the curve over such large distances? I can imagine being able to mark out a door way but how did they mark out such large curves?
