Hello, print fam. Today is going to be full of heat transfers for me and some shirts for Bob. I'm trying to be more organized, it's not going the best, but I'm working on it. For part of Bob's job, we did some print and cut. I love that I can do print and cut on the HP Latex 315, but it is soooo expensive. Because it's so expensive, I'm thinking about buying a white toner printer.

The biggest profits HP is making are not in printers but in consumables and medias. If my primary business was personalised t-shirts I'd go with a DTG printer like the Epson SureColor F2100. I totally agree that the HP Latex is not suited for HTV and even for other applications but what most users like is the versatility, the odorless and instantly dry prints. Make an online catalog where you can put by type, media, quantity and price your products. If I had a production press like yours I'd specify minimum quantity for each products. Example for business cards you can go 100, 250, 500 and 1000 one side or both sides. You can add extra fees for lamination and round corners. I watched the vlog you posted yesterday and I must say the way you charge every job is not really what most print providers do. You can't charge the customer like you do. Put an optimal price per sqft depending on the media that will cover your labour, inks, media and finishing.

I love my latex. It's perfect for the type of print shop I run. If I had more production I'd probably be better off with eco solvent, for some things, but I love how simple and low maintenance the latex is. I highly recommend it.
